Such is the price we pay for civilized democracy and liberty. Regulation does not equal dictatorship. If you want to do whatever you want, you have more than enough power to go live in the middle of nowhere with no internet on a bunch of acres.

I wish the holiday would come and go without people in the neighborhood setting off firecrackers deep into the night. It's got to be the most overrated activity on the planet. After the third or fourth "bang," it's pretty much lost whatever appeal it had.

We set off about $200 in fireworks for the 3rd of July. I can't wait to see what's coming today.

I betcha more people complain about the 4th Amendment popup on the site today than actually ever mention, even via email, their dislike of the NSA's activities to their Congress Critters.

4th of July greetings from Down Under. Have gotten quite a few congratulatory greetings from both Aussies and Brits (in town for Lions v. Wallabies rugby on Saturday, Google it if you are not familiar).

This thread is offensive to the Brits.

Who can afford to live in the middle of nowhere.
Besides there are a lot less middle of nowheres.
