RE: So.....what are your plans for the Fourth?
Thinking now about driving up to Denton for the annual Kiwanis fireworks show inside and adjacent to Apogee Stadium. Some will watch it from the old Fouts Field area and on campus, too. There will be one big traffic jam after the show is over.

Word is that UNT athletics will feature CUSA inside the stadium on the giant video jumbotron; so in essence, North Texas is celebrating CUSA on the 4'th of July and before thousands. (I've seen close to 30,000 at these annual 4'th of July Denton Kiwanis fireworks shows in years past).

Our Mean Green play by play guy, UNT alum and Dallas' KTCK 1310 "The Ticket" radio personality George Dunham along with his band will perform with another band planning to perform, too. Kids will have activities to participate as well. It will be an All American ©USA celebration!

We've got an oceanfront beach house @ Pine Knoll Shores, NC. Gorgeous. Wouldn't spend a 4th any other way.

If you want to see a TRAFFIC JAM head out to Niagara Falls at Canada's Independence celebration. It was Mind Boggling. Worst I have ever seen. But worth it.

Beautiful, but the water is too cold there. (I live in Blacksburg and everyone I know here goes there)

Spiked watermelon, cold beer, fried chicken, late birthday presents from family and illegal fireworks - wait, wasn't that last year's plan?

That's crazy talk, by the end of summer it's not even refreshing anymore, like bathwater. Right now it's perfect a month or so ago it was cold but felt good if the sun was warm, you just couldn't stay in and lounge for long periods.

NC does have some of the nicest beaches. Have fun04-cheers

Unlike the usual holiday chaos, this year my hubby and I will spend a quiet afternoon together with grilled dogs, baked beans, potato chips and malted beverages. It will be a serene celebration of Independence.
