Idaho to play USC in 2015
"The Idaho football team will play Southern Cal on Sept. 12, 2015, the Trojans announced Wednesday.

Idaho played at then-No. 1 USC in 2007, the teams’ first meeting since 1929. USC won 38-10.

USC is just the latest high-profile opponent on the Vandals’ schedule.

Idaho will play at Mississippi (2013), at Florida State (2013), at Florida (2014) and at Auburn (2015). Idaho played at LSU in 2012.

The Vandals will be paid $850,000 by Mississippi, $950,000 by Florida State, $975,000 by Florida, $1 million by Auburn and $1.1 million by USC.

In 2007, USC paid the Vandals $600,000 for the game.

The Vandals are playing an independent schedule in 2013 and will join the Sun Belt as a football-only member in 2014."

On a side note, one of the commenters is claiming that Boise State is getting national recognition and therefore a leg up on jobs in his home state of georgia. Does anyone in Georgia actually care about BSU?

You know stAte fans will be telling you they got $1.3 million to play SoCal instead of $1.1.
But guess they have a lot farther to go.
That's great though.

Yeah, I just noticed that. What are the travel costs anyways?

Your team might as well poke their eyes out before those games. It will make the skull dragging go much easier.

Nobody ever expects us to win. We use how long their starters stay in as an indicator of a good or bad day.

Someone averaged out the travel to around 200K earlier. Maybe a little less. That should explain some of the discrepancy.

When your team hasn't been doing well the last few years sometimes a moral victory is enough encouragement for your guys to play better.

And if THAT is your argument for bolting (I'm well aware its not the only factor) I'll quickly remind you that in the last 20 years your Amazin Cajuns have had 13 seasons at .500 or BELOW. You go 9 and 4, 2 seasons in a row and all the sudden think you're the ish... your ego is almost as big as ours. :)

As for Idaho, congratulations! I know your guys are gonna play their hearts out win or lose.

Let's be honest: How many Sun Belt teams would actually stand a chance against USC? These are body bag games for most non-BCS teams.

I am reminded of the saying where you stand depend on where you sit. Boise fans see a value to them from their team, regardless if one exists ir not. It is like going to a NCAA conference message board and being surprised that they want their sports subsidized by non-sports subscribers or that schools who moved up to 1-A are not chasing "delusions of opportunity."

You'd get just as trashed as would every C-USA team, so I don't get what your point is. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you guys still schedule guarantee games?

Louisiana knows about Body Bag games. Last time they went to Oklahoma State I think the team showed up in a body bag.

Moral Victories require not getting sucker punched on an end game blocked punt.

When was the last time ASU knocked off one of the big boys? He said "They didn't expect to win those games." I would hope everyone goes into their games expecting to win. I never said we were above getting skull dragged ourselves.

2008 over A&M. Closest Sucker punch was a 3 point loss at Indiana a couple years later.

Moral Victories require not getting sucker punched on an end game blocked punt.

When was the last time ASU knocked off one of the big boys? He said "They didn't expect to win those games." I would hope everyone goes into their games expecting to win. I never said we were above getting skull dragged ourselves.

The team might, but nobody else does. Like people always say, "win or lose, Vandals booze."

Win or loose Vandals booze? What the heck is that suppose to mean? You guys stay loaded?

Idaho has a long standing reputation for being "nasty and inebriated." We used to be the undisputed king of party schools. One year, they (I think playboy does it?) made the list and included Idaho in the footnote saying something along the lines of, "Because Idaho is on a completely different level of insanity, it was removed to make this competition more fair."

So yeah, we get hammered and pumped up for football, knowing that we're going to lose. Sometimes our student become actual vandals.

Vandals went from homeless FCS bound to Sunbelt and scheduling big programs for much needed capital. I wish them well.
