RE: TFW... Big 12 Expansion
I don't know, some headers or maybe a couple elbows when two players are challenging for a ball in the air just don't compare to a game where the whole point is to run straight into a player and bring him to the ground on every single play.

True, soccer is not exactly a "soft" sport, but I'd say there's more acting and crying for a foul than actual violence.

Please watch every other level of the sport. Professional soccer is people trying to preserve a paycheck. In 15 years of playing the sport, I've only had very rare occasions where someone has blatantly simulated for a call. I agree that the root of football as a sport is much more violent, but soccer is a more dangerous sport, and there really is no argument that can sway me from that as I'm probably one of the few who has played both sports competitively for more than a half decade.

I never doubted its violence. I just don't find it to be very beautiful.

I can't help it. I'm just sitting here imagining Bob Trumpy saying "Have you played the game? If not, what do you know?"

That's way before my time...not sure if compliment or sarcasm?

Back on Topic...

Here's a thread on the Expansion Board about a quote from the Oklahoma AD regretting the B12 did not take Louisville. Last month Texas' AD said the same. Maybe I am just biased, but Cincinnati is not that far removed from Louisville and frankly we offer more potential upside in terms of television market. Of course, it seems the farther and farther removed we get from all this nobody else agrees and outsiders perceive us as the Minter Era Bearcats.

That's why this season is so crucial. Last chance with an auto bid. Need to get a BCS win at a minimum. An impressive BCS win would be the cherry on top.

I agree with that 100%

Stop hijacking our soccer thread.05-nono

Joking aside, I think there is a lot of energy behind UC's program right now. A down year would kill that energy.

RE: TFW... Big 12 Expansion
I agree, though it's hard to imagine a down year really. Talent and coaching should be solid, schedule is soft so 9 wins and a decent bowl would continue building a winning tradition. Of course I'd prefer 12 wins, a beatdown of Louisville, a BCS win, and the national commentators all saying, "How can power five conferences ignore a program as great at Cincinnati?".

Not that much of a soccer fan, but I agree. Especially violent for the spectators 03-lmfao

I more or less railed on the change of subject 03-lmfao
