If he were replacing a horrible AD, I might be more lenient. But to replace a very good AD with this man is a joke. Especially when we didn't have to replace our previous AD.

Replacing Hammond is a sunk cost - regardless of who we hire, Hammond is still not the AD at SOUTHERN MISS. Hammond not being the AD is not the fault of whomever is hired to replace him. Your logic is, well, illogical.

Yes that very good ad got us what 2 law suits, a break down in contract negotiations with Tyndall, accused the previous AD of being of being corrupt and then a state audit found nothing (this is what likely cost him his job) and alienated several CoC members. Not to mention there is still that whole deficit thing (still not fixed) that he accused G of being so irresponsible for.

His job was gone the minute that audit came back clean -- ask 'tee; he was told as much but didn't believe it.

You just can't go around alienating people like he did. Especially at a place like USM.

As far as the expansion anyone who feels that it was unnecessary had no grasp upon how far we were behind at that time. The expansion while nice was not nearly enough (in terms of luxury seating and skyboxes) for the goals we should be setting for ourselves.

If I'm not mistaken, Hammond has filed no law suits. Anyone can file a law suit against anyone else. That doesn't make the accused guilty.

The State appointed audit found nothing wrong because that is what they were brought in to do.

RE: The next USM AD....
I'm still waiting for someone to put forth a credible argument that the stadium expansion was a bad idea.

There are a lot of people here who are full of crap. Just this week, I've been called a Nazi, told USM was a commuter school (by a guy who's own institution is a certified commuter school according to Carnegie), and, now, I'm told by a so-called fan that expanding our stadium was a bad idea.

What I take away from this is that most of my detractors are idiots, and that I should take pride in their derision.

Nastybunch, Shiftyeagle, and Gdunn... I'm looking at y'all. Man up and tell me why expanding our stadium was a bad idea. Tell me in simple terms why we would renew an AD who went 0-12.

I don't think you can. I think you want a 20,000 member circle jerk, not an FBS football team.

And MM Roberts could use a pressure-washing. It looks mildewey in pictures.

We didn't renew the AD who hired EJ..We fired him last year. He did get rid of an genius that chose the Hawaii Bowl and Nevada over The Texas Bowl and Penn State, and the guy who has left us 37,000,000 in debt, and the man who hired Varnell (Sandra), and the other woman who bought us the $75,000 pressure washer for the stadium that you can't use there. Brilliance...just brilliance.

I parked in the same spot I have for 4 years. Directly across Hwy 49 from the Rock.

If you joined the Eagle Club, you would not have to park so far away. And we might not have such deficit issues! 05-nono

I am a EC member, but never use my parking, give it away. I can park much closer to the Rock without it.

oh yes the IHL conspiracy theory again. All a plot to make Hammond look bad, we get it. While all of the above is true, none of it was illegal.

Even though I think your a loon, I totally agreed with the expansion....I used to argue with my father at the dinner table 35 yrs ago we needed to do it. I am a field of dreams type...build it and they will come. The upper deck corners are a nightmare to climb....kinda falls into the duh, category IMO. I would love to see another tier added to the south side. ...or the same at the north side. Either way, 42k+ should be a goal in the near future

When I lived around the Burg I use to come in off 42 and down 49 towards the stadium. During those two games I can guarantee you people were parking on the frontage road in front of Diary Queen. That's less than a couple hundred yards from the bypass. So from my experience in certain games what he is saying is entirely possible. Also if you remember during the Alcorn St game there were still several thousand Braves fans outside the stadium.

Then I will give you a 'wow' and say you have no clue or anyone else that parked there what in the hell they were doing. That's like saying I should walk from my house on 14th to the game....'wow'....the DQ???....lmfao!!! I can honestly say neither have been an option in 40 yrs of going to games...and yeah, all of them unless I was out of town...no clue what the last statement implied....jeez

Is exactly what you said. So your saying there is no reason to park there at ANY game at Southern Miss. And then you called the guy a loon. So as any can mean any time I linked an article for everyone's enjoyment showing that at least at some time it was a problem. Simple enough for you or you want me to pull out the crayons and magic markers and draw you pictures.
