Attendance Predictions
With all the talk (and arguing) about how the new alignment of C-USA will effect attendance, how do you think your program will fare next season? I think UNT, LA Tech, and UTSA will see increases in attendance.
Here is my best guess for North Texas:
Idaho 22,000 - the first game of the season, and throw-back uniforms
Ball State 22,500 - a win over Idaho gives the fans hope
MTSU 19,000 - MTSU@UNT never drew good crowds
Rice 20,000 - even if the season looks bleak, known Texas programs always draw well in Denton
UTEP 22,000 - refer to rice statement, + lots of UTEP alum in DFW
UTSA 21,000- if the Runners fan base isn't too frustrated this late in the season, they might still travel well
I predict North Texas will have a season average of 21,083 for 2013, and that is real people in attendance. If North Texas has a good season those numbers could go up quite a bit.

Why do you think FAU will be less than a sellout? Just because it is a thursday night?

I disagree with chappy, I think it will sell out, just because it's a Thursday night game. I think the students will fill what goes unsold. They get 12,000 seats now, for a Thursday night game, no reason they can't fill the rest with an 4-5k students. Heck they over sell every game now. The student section get filled and they start filling unsold seats after that. We average over 14,500 students per game, when class is in.

RE: Attendance Predictions
I've read that more than half of our fans commute an hour or more for the games, so I don't think we will sell out a non-holiday weeknight unless the opponent is a really big draw or we have something big on the line. I hope I'm wrong though!

RE: Attendance Predictions
We went 0-12 last year and still averaged over 25,000. My guess would be we average around 27,500 this year because there is nobody on our home schedule is a particularly good draw.

RE: Attendance Predictions
All over 50k? I see zero home games last year in which ECU got 50k attendance. No doubt y'all are the class of the conference, but am I missing something?

RE: Attendance Predictions
Given where our Blazers have to play their "home" games? Trust me when I tell you, in our case, "home" (Lesion Field) is not where the heart is. I tried to make this prediction last season and came up woefully short. This season I think will be contingent upon any and all on-the-field success. Our attendance is too unpredictable based on what our program and its' supporters have experienced and continue to experience on an all-too-regular basis. A winning season may change some of this for the better, but as long as UAB Football has to tolerate Legion Field, the harder predicting attendance is and will continue to be...

People were rebelling. They thought we had missed the boat in conference realignment. Apathy set in.

I doubt we sell out another game the rest of the year. 45-48k probably.

That and no home games against BCS teams, no UCF or USM, and on the hills of two bad seasons. Now with VT, USM, and some new faces coming here and coming off a 8-5 season, attendance should jump up.

This is what I'm thinking if we have a 6-6 or 7-5 style season.
Idaho - 25K, first game of the season (rare in Denton), 100th anniversary, throwback uniforms, new conference, lots of hype around town, known opponent
Ball State - 21K, family weekend, not starting 0-1 helps people's hype.
MTSU - 19K, rarely a good draw team
Rice - 22K, Tuesday night, nationally televised, Halloween, and a local opponent with a strong team.
UTEP - 25K, ton of UTEP alumni and by then we'll look like a good team, people also will be interested because UTEP is well known.
UTSA - 23K, UTSA will travel well, likely successful season.
Average of 22,950.

We will clear 50K for both ODU and VPI. FAU, USM, UAB and Tulsa will have in excess of 46K.

After we beat VT and Carolina the rest of the games will be hot tickets.
