I didn't know Nicole Atkins and Seth Avett were UNCC grads. She opened up for the Avett Brothers a couple years ago (2011?) when they played the Ted at ODU. It was an awesome show and it's definitely cool to know Seth was looking out for his fellow 49er. I saw the Avett Brothers again this past weekend at NTelos in Portsmouth. They didn't disappoint.

The other Avett brother went to ECU. I certainly wouldn't call them more notable than Clay Akin. Critically aclaimed, sure but I bet you could ask any joe on the street who the Avett brothers are and you might get 1 out of 10 that knew them if that. Grandma and everyone inbetween that watches TV has probalby heard of Clay Akin.

SJ is a huge CA fan I hear.

That's pretty darn classy UTEP.

Also, you will all grow to hate the player in that picture the next two years. He was top 10 in the nation in steals as a freshman and I believe he was last year as well. At worst he was in the top 25 last year.

I'd say you're more notable if you are more critically acclaimed in the music world rather than b/c some tween spam voting for you in an attempt to win a ****** music show, along with the ensuing "is he gay or not" tabloid fiesta.
