Sad.....either you are a Pirate or not........to switch is a total disrespect to oneself and to our beloved East Carolina University.

A few years ago when we played you guys in Greenville, the game that I don't want to remember (and one at the buzzer? really?) I was talking to an ECU student after the game. I mentioned that it was a shame that you guys couldn't fill your arena on a regular basis, as that seems like a place that could give you guys a fantastic home court advantage.

His reply: "Yeah, but it'll never compare to Cameron."

I just walked away.

It won't, Minges is great place, even half full. When it is full it is one hellva home court. But, as some one who has been to Cameron Indoor, it doesn't compare, it's the simple truth. Cameron can hold nearly 2k more and the noise level is slightly higher, but they have those banners saying National Champion hanging in the rafters which only adds to the intimidation factor. Then there are the Cameron Crazies, their better organized than the Minges Maniacs.

ECU can be known as one of the hardest places to play in the country for visiting teams if we continue to build and grow the basketball program and fan base. But, he was right, until there are National Title Banners hanging in the rafters it will never compare to Cameron Indoor.

It's not very hard to be better organized than the MMs. Just have one meeting and you've got em licked.

We'd also have to hang our banners on the wall, lol.

I was shooting around on the court in Cameron when I was going to the bowl game with their band and that place just has a certain feel that I've never gotten anywhere else. They have so many banners that they have to put some of the smaller ones on the old upper concourse. I wish we could have something like that in Williams arena, but decades of futility tend to breed more decades of futility.

On that note, when mingesmaniacs.com existed when we started CUSA play for all sports it was pretty organized but once that collective of pioneers graduated the student section has been called the MMs but its a shadow of its originating members.

And what banners? lulz.

CUSA Women's title
CIT Men's Title
CAA Men's Title
and trickle in a few NCAA and NIT births for the men and women... I doubt all of them would add up to 10 banners.

Does not uncc have enough problems without you worrying about ecu. In the past it has been who ecu played that determine the turnout so if uncc could be more competitive that would help, too. For some reason this person has started to attacki fellow Pirates...........what is his problem?
