App State # 6 Athletic Facilities in Nation
As an App State grad even I do not buy this one. We do have some fantastic facilities, and have never heard a recruit say
that they weren't impressed after visiting, but really now. Guess it could be good for recruiting.
App State has better athletic facilities than Alabama and Ohio State?
Pole of top ten athletic facilities in the nation shows App State as number 6. Not exactly from a well known source either.

RE: App State # 6 Athletic Facilities in Nation
lol, this thing is an online marketing tactic used to drive traffic to the websites of the company that sponsors it while also generating backlinks to the company's website. Infographics, especially for sports, are really effective for this because they go viral very easily on message boards and social media. Links and social interaction can significantly boost a website's rankings.

Patterson Pope isn't a person. It is a moving and storage company.

Looks like most of the guys that run the company are from/went to school in Virginia and NC, so that would explain the high number of schools from the ACC on the list.

This list is laughable at best. Not because App is on it (this shouldn't be viewed as me shitting on App in any way), but let's be real. It's a terrible list. There are beautiful facilities all across the country and we got a list of 10 schools in the southeast. Duke?!?!? Are you kidding me? Duke's football stadium is terrible. Their basketball arena, while historic, intimate, and loud, is pretty ****** compared to most of the facilities at major universities across the country. No Michigan? Notre Dame? Ohio State? Oregon? Cal? Hell I'll even throw UTEP in there even though it might be a stretch.

No Texas and the largest athletic revenue machine in college sports? I do believe this list might be suspect...

I would say a bunch of fools made this list, but it did do its job, so I guess we are really the fools in all of this

Shortening the web address does bring you a little more information. Just seems like a waste of time though. It's so
poorly done that it doesn't even make sense. If you are going
to do a list, even for marketing, looks as if you would want to
fool people a little better.

Suspect would be overly kind to it.

It's nit-picky of me, but the dailyinfographic.com folks should know better. It's athletics facilities. The facilities just sit there. They're anything but athletic.

Not to mention that it probably shouldn't be on an infographic website. There are no numbers/graphs/visual aids. Just some poorly chosen pictures.

Top 10 doubtful. But when recruits visit they are blown away and certainly expectations are exceeded.

Camron Indoor is crappy as they come. It looks like an old barn that a minor league hockey team should be playing at. Like you said it may have history but thats all it has. It actually should be history. The thing is I don't know if Duke could actually fill a 10-12K arena. They hype CIS by showing people camping out for tickets. Duke as an enrollment of 12K and not all those students go to games. I don't know how many outside of Durum support Duke Basketball in the triangle or even on Tobacco Road.

There are enough Walmart Duke fans within a 30 minute drive of Durham to sell 12k easy.

RE: App State # 6 Athletic Facilities in Nation
No offense to App, I've seen, but not attended your football stadium and it is nice overall. However, I can't take a facility too seriously that has a track around it. When they can dedicate a facility to solely football and create separate track facilities, then lets talk.
I also find it hard to believe that they're going to throw 9 BCS teams and then... o yeah, Appalachian State. It just seems suspicious.
Not a knock on App at all, I have much respect for our quasi-rivals in Boone.
I've also been to the UNC football stadium for our game there in 2011. It was by no means a top 10 facility. It was meant for short people back in the 1930s. No legroom and we literally had to crawl under an overhang just to get to our seats. I literally ducked and I'm only 5'9.
I would say JMU's stadium at least has UNC's beat from a maneuverability standpoint.

My bags have been packed for 5 years now. Our leaders just won't get their heads out of their asses. The school is ran by a super penny pincher VP of Finance that won't commit unless it only costs $5. Meanwhile he's losing fan support and thus losing $$$.

You could add up 2 or 3 SBC annual budgets and not pay for that...
