Troy has a chance if they can catch the red wolves on a downer five days after playing an emotionally charged game with Auburn. We don't play a power four (ASU, WKU, UL, ULM) again until Week 8. That will give us time for our new players and new defensive coordinator to iron out some kinks. South Alabama could throw a monkey wrench in our plans if we're not careful though.
If Troy's defense comes around, they will play for a bowl.

Surely you jest. ULM had success early in the year with that strange offensive formation they had. By the time we got to them everyone had figured out how to shut it down.

It is odd that we never ran it again, at least once in a while, throughout the season. We really never gave anyone a chance to figure it out, and I'm not all that sure anyone would have if we had just used it sparingly and occasionally.

I could have sworn you guys ran that like your bread and butter play. You guys did do a lot of wrinkles on offense like no running back. I'm not throwing digs at your team. It was a very creative offensive scheme. Although Browning was usually running for his life.

UAB in Game 1 is a question mark. If we can get by them and ASU in Game 3 I'll be an extremely happy camper. Our season pretty much hinges on those two games.
First off, I'm not disputing anything you said. But this can be said of several teams I would imagine, even USA. While we sorely lacked depth we lost 4 games by one score or less and with decent refs we likely win against UNT in Denton (at least the Sun Belt suspended the refs? ). USA could also make a big jump this year. Not saying we will win the conference but we could drastically improve from 2-11 last year. USA was even worse in the turnover department than Troy, so increased ball security will greatly help us as well. It will be fun to watch it all play out this season!

Weren't those same 9 on the team last season? Just saying..
Lets see my brother was out for 2 games. ULL/ASU. Caldwell got hurt @ MTSU and Blakes vs Baylor. We were without 6 of our top 8 players most of the season.

Your brother wasn't out for UL, he was knocked out. And we had a So. QB that was starting his third game after 5 TO's against ASU and a number of injuries. You want to compare the injury list for that game for starters? Depth is part of being a good program, ULM's just didn't play well period.

This is stacking up as a crazy year. I anticipate lots of improvement all around the league. Sort of worried that this could be one of those years where we all just beat each other up.

This guy has no knowledge of Texas State. I would not put a plug nickel's worth of respect in anything he predicts. We are going to be so much better on defense it will be scary.

Bottom line is Browning, Broadway, and Robinson are incredible players. Difference is those three is I think Browning and Broadway are surrounded by talent this year. Troy is talented and could go bowling and ASTATE and WKU have plenty surrounding cast, but not dynamic QB's and supporting cast like ULM and ULL. I'm a homer, but I think the showdown in Lafayette could be for all the marbles. That is if Kolton can stay healthy all year, which is something that hasn't happened yet, but he is up to 220 pounds and hopefully more durable.

When I said out I was reffering to him getting injured during the ULL game. You don't have to be a smartass and say he was knocked out. A DL/DE landed on his foot. I know 2 ULL fans where cheering about him being injured and that crap don't fly with me or anybody else.

I didn't see anyone in my section cheering when he went down. I did see people get excited the defense finally made a play on him and I did see people cheer when he was able to get up off the turf, so let's not make some bs up about Cajun fans cheering his injury, I was at the game. You guys need to get over that game and the last play of the game. ULM had a chance to end the season on a positive note and were crushed in the Independence Bowl. Stop making excuses!

I get the QB argument (we think our 6'5" QB is going to be pretty "dynamic" like he was when he got the chance at USA but he has to prove it) but are you saying that stAte and WKU don't have the supporting cast that ULM has?

I am not making excuses. Just know that these 2 ULL fans were removed by police. I am not saying all ULL fans are bad just those 2 and I know another said something smartass towards a family member. I aint making up no BS.
TexasWarhawkBrother, let me say this about Kolton. I have a great deal of respect for your brother as an athlete and a person. By all accounts he is a good student and person; I would take him on my team any day, he is a winner period. So I don't take lightly fans cheering after an athlete is injured, in fact it disgust me. Cajun fans or not, I will be the first to call someone out for doing such a thing. Kolton has mean't a great deal to the ULM program and the Sun Belt. I enjoy watching him play and don't mind him having a good day against the Cajuns as long as the scroreboard is in our favor at the end of the game.
Thanks and don't tell anyone I said that!
