Rendon's 1st big league homer
Anthony hit his first dinger tonight, an opposite field shot in the top of the 9th to give Washington a 7-6 lead. He's now hitting .333 with a 3-5 night tonight.

RE: Rendon's 1st big league homer
Looks like on PBP, he could have been out on first pitch, which he fouled off, but if I'm reading correctly, it was dropped and charged as error. Pestano didn't get an earned run there, so that appears to be the case.

Dropped foul pop error by first baseman Nick Swisher.
3.Anthony Rendon homers (1) on a fly ball to right field.
Pitcher
V. Pestano
Batter
A. Rendon
Speed Pitch Result
1 91 Fastball (Four-seam) Foul
2 81 Slider Ball
3 91 Fastball (Four-seam) In play, run(s)

EDIT: and just after adding this, the video is now posted.

The haircut was a gift from one of his teammates, according to local sports reporting. He keeps his cap on a lot lately.

Way to go, Anthony!

Here's a link to a video of the missed foul popup.

Per a Nats fan friend, it was Adam LaRoche.

I still maintain that if Adam's brother Andy had come to Rice in 2004, we would have been unstoppable

He has another 3 hits already today, and it's only the 6th inning. As a Nats fan, I absolutely love watching him hit. We have had zero production from 2B for a while, so I'm hoping Rendon is here to stay. Unfortunately there is an irrational love for Danny Espinosa within the organization.

Right. He would have given an extra boost to the offense, which we could have used..

RE: Rendon's 1st big league homer
Interesting to note that in yesterday's game, Rendon was moved to third base in the seventh inning. Probably was easier to do, with the game involving an DH and Zimmerman could be moved there, but interesting that they chose to do that at all.

His 11 game hitting streak ended last night. Even with an 0-3 night, he's still hitting .344. They've also moved up to #2 in the lineup.

great to see him playing so well at the highest level. When playing for Rice, he was one of those guys (even as a freshman) you just watched play and knew he was MLB caliber.
