Cool deal for the players.

To go into an arena of 12,000 fans pulling against you, home team who won 30+ games with only one lost at home, and still win the 32 team tournament should honored and recognize for great PR it gave state of NC and ECU.

Indeed, congratulations.

There's a player from Northside Christian Academy rated the #82 player in the nation by ESPN. Recognition like this can only help in possibly landing him.

I'd rather be 101 than whatever the hell Marshall finished at.

You are referring to James Demery. He has been sitting on an ECU offer for a little while now, but he has also been blowing up on the AAU circuit (MVP of Bob Gibbson tournament), so he might be ACC bound rather than AAC bound unless he wants to play at home.

Yeah Charlotte has offered him too. I give Charlotte and ECU about a 5% chance of landing him and that might be a little bit generous. Kid has ACC written all over him.

That's adorable coming from a fan of a basketball program in shambles, and only heading further south. 03-nutkick

It'd be real easy to make a joke here, but I'll refrain. Congrats ECU for the recognition for one of your best seasons in a long, long time.

I think our chances are better. AAC teams have been recruting at high levels, even the ones not named UConn, Memphis, Cincy and Temple.

Rivals 150

2013
#18 Keith Frazier- SMU
#83 John Egbun- USF
#138 Sterling Brown- SMU
#144 Steve Haney -UCF

Houston had a top 20 player the year before so it's not unheard of for the second tier teams in the AAC to land a blue chip recruit here and there. Some really high level talent being brought into this conference.

SJ, you're a fellow Pirate... but, why would you say something like that? It is going to start a flame war, and will attract certain Marshall posters. Charlotte is a more established basketball program. They are in a major metro area. I'd say we have an equal shot, if not slightly giving the edge to Charlotte.

I hope he decides to stay home and go to ECU, but most likely he'll be playing in the ACC.

AAC membership is the gamechanger, and we've beat them on Stith and Guilmette recently even before that. The fact is that schools like Houston and SMU in the AAC have seen a spike in recruiting since the move. Call it whatever you want it's just the reality moving forward so let them joke about that.

We'll see if the recruiting spike in the AAC is maintained. Houston saw a bump when they were going to a conference with a lot of members that are no longer there. SMU has a legendary coach at the helm now. I think their recruiting spike is due more to the fact that he's the coach than the conference they're going to.

Hell Isaiah Thomas recruited to FIU pretty well on name alone and he was in the Sun Belt. That's why I don't buy into SMU recruiting well long term based on conference affiliation alone.

You've beaten us on some recruits, we've beaten you on recruits. It doesn't really mean much. Fordham just beat out a lot of P5 schools for Jon Severe, a Rivals top 150 player. Despite this, they're still Fordham. A program going nowhere fast.

Ok ok....they probably won't finish very last. Maybe ahead of USF and Tulane.

You're right, AAC membership is a gamechanger.

Intelligent ECU posters are giving ECU an equal shot, if not slightly giving the edge to Charlotte.

That's quite a massive step up from year's past. Congrats! You've finally arrived! Praise Lebo!
