Severely disappointed
The SEC had nine teams in the tournament, with just four teams making the super regional round and only LSU and Mississippi State get to the College World Series. Vandy ran into a red hot Louisville team, so one of the nation's two or three best teams is sitting at home. South Carolina looked like they would take out the #1 overall seed, but North Carolina came back from a 4-2 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 5-4.
Most of the teams I wanted to do well lost. Rice had North Carolina St. on the ropes and let them get away. Florida State bombed against dadgum Indiana. Kansas State couldn't finish off Oregon State.
Pulling for LSU to win it all, but would be OK with Mississippi State, since that would make my son and other family members happy. If one of those don't win it, I'll be pulling for UNC or NCSU.

I will be pulling for Miss State now... Vandy was a total bomb.

We had 1/4 of all teams in the super regional and 1/4 of all teams in the CWS. Vandy pulled a Vandy. They probably had the best team in the nation but lacked aggression against Louisville. South Carolina's new manager never took his butt out of the dugout when things went awry in the 6th. He didn't calm down the pitcher when the errors happened behind him and he didn't relieve a rattled pitcher as he walked two to load the bases. A calming word might have saved the day. Florida bumped an Auburn team with a better overall record and a strong RPI of its own. The result was a predictable lack luster performance in Bloomington and a .500 season record. However L.S.U. and Miss State should do well but will be in a dogfight. Did you notice that with the exception of Indiana the teams that pitch the best are all in Omaha. N.C. State, UNC, Miss St., Oregon St, UCLA, Louisville, and L.S.U. all pitch well. It's all going to come down to timely hitting and deep bullpens.

Baseball is a tough game to predict.
Teams get on a roll while others go into slumps.

That's why I thought Ole Miss had a shot to make it into the Super Regional -- they had some good pitching. Mayers and Wahl were both high draft picks last week. But as they had done all season, the Rebels hit just enough to lose. I have to give South Carolina a bit of a pass, given that they had to get by UNC, but I am really disappointed in Vandy. Too have as many teams in the tourney and to only get two into the CWS is a headscratcher. Plus the fact that there may have been 4-5 teams in the SEC that were probably better than MSU that won't be in Omaha makes me sick.
