NCSt vs Rice -- Super Regional Game 2
Time to put Saturday behind us. Time to focus on the game in front of us. Obviously we have a great pitcher on the mound. We have the opportunity today to even the series. Best would of course be to get the bats going early, get some runs and not have to take the game into the ninth up by one run like at Oregon....

Will be interesting to see today's lineup.

Go Owls!

With the way Jordan's been pitching and the success we had against Rodon, I actually feel very good about today's game. And I'm going to get greedy and dream of another CG by Jordan but with a little cushion this time, leaving us a fully-rested Simms and Lemond for tomorrow.

Go Owls!

I am feeling very good about this game with Stephens on the mound. Mix in some timely hitting (some bloop hits have to fall for 2-out RBIs at some point) and there will be a game tomorrow. Go Rice!

if you can get a Wolf to sing Bonnet, you can win a baseball game in Raleigh . . .

I would think Simms is definitely available today.

If Simms ends up throwing a lot today, then we have Lemond starting Game 3 with Fox, McCanna, Ditman, McDowell, Spurlin, and McNair behind him.

Ideally Simms goes short today and is in the bully again tomorrow.

A CG from Stephens would obviously be huge, but I'm sure OG is planning to win the series even absent that best case scenario.

There is a slight chance of rain today in Raleigh although the rain possibilities are higher later in the evening. Decent chance of severe storms tomorrow but let's cross that bridge when we come to it.

The NCSU board is saying that So RHP Logan Jernigan will be their starter...

9 app, 7 starts, 1-0, 25.1 IP, 1.07 ERA, .196 BAA, 23 BBs, 25 Ks, only 4 extrabase hits

...wild man, but obviously with very good stuff. There's a reason their bullpen has 29 of their wins-- outside of Rodon, their starters just do not go deep into games; rather, they tend to go all staff, alternating pitchers from their deep bullpen every inning or two after the starter is removed.

We really need Cook, Rat and Aquino to break out of their slumps, and from the get-go.

I was hoping to watch the game online today, but once again the Internet gods are working against me. I can find ESPN and ESPN2 live links, but nothing for ESPNU. Aaaaaargh! Well, I guess I may have to rely on yesterday's "solution."

Go OWLS!

There is a link for ESPNU on the ESPN website, but you must have the right internet service provider. My provider is not one. Maybe yours is.

When Stephens can command his curve, he is a lot of fun to watch

Stephens with a couple of K's in the 1st. No score, heading to the bottom of the frame.
