Doesn't matter when kickoff is. We need to show up in huge numbers and make it a home field advantage for us.

You will never have home field advantage in Troy. We average around 17,000 when the FIUs and FAUs come to town, so if you outnumber us we'll be well over capacity.

That said,

Honestly, if that happened I wouldn't be all that upset. The vet would be rockin'. I'd love to have 20,000 Troy and 20,000 UAB. You guys do your part and show up in droves.

You know already that regardless of how many we take, they'll say we had no more than 1,000. I'm hoping for a good showing on the field more than in the stands.

Of course they'll say we only brought a thousand. They'll have aerial photos t prove it. Never mind that we'll be a couple of layers thick in the same seats.

I just read that Troy's only returning 7 starters, and 1 on the offensive line.

We return three on the offensive line: Chris Hawkins, Jimmie Arnold, and Terrance Jones. We have a new Offensive Line Coach, Jim Dye. He is related to Pat Dye though in what fashion escapes me at the moment. It is unknown to me whether he will be a good coach or not, though some on the board say he will be decent.

We return both QBs who are extremely talented. We bring back two starters at WR in Eric Thomas (leading receiver in 2011) and Chandler Worthy. However, we spread the ball around pretty thick and many other guys have seen playing time. We snagged Hutchinson's (#12 JUCO Team in NJCAA) leading receiver Antonio Johnson (920+ yards, 12 TDs) and Tulane's leading receiver from 2011, Wilson Van Hooser, who is eligible immediately due to graduation ( a deep threat, 21 yards per catch in 2012). The offense will be as good or better than last year.

Where you should be able to attack us early is on defense. Wayne Bolt will be good for us (5 great years at Troy, not so much in other places including UAB, but that's another story) but we could struggle early. We'll be installing new packages on defense with a group that's talented, but not at the level of talent we had during our SBC championship runs.
