I believe ODU is now officially on the stadium announcement clock. The word is we will know specific stadium plans before kickoff against ECU.
Did these the other day when I was bored:

I love seeing a man who has benefited from taxpayers give back to the community. Good for JR, good for the 49ers.

Sounds like the scholarship endowment is only for one scholarship. It wasn't clear at the time of the press conference.

Richardson Stadium sounds pretty good & is better identity wise than any corporate name IMO

I can only imagine just how genuinely excited you all are in Charlotte about the new football stadium. I had that same feeling 2 years ago when I thought UAB was getting their oncampus arena, but we all know how that story turned out. I am so glad to see the results of your labors bearing fruit.. . It must be nice to have a supportive, transparent and honest board of trustees backing you. We at UAB have no idea how that feels. Can't wait to visit your new digs someday.

Turns out the scholarship endowment gift from Richardson is for an additional $250,000.
Also, I've seen several people call it Richardson Stadium already, but it is actually JERRY Richardson Stadium. Richardson stadium means nothing. There are thousands of Richardsons out there, but only one NFL team owning Jerry Richardson. That is why we want both names on the stadium.

Charlotte is definitely doing it right- it does help to have a Jerry Richardson in your corner. As for UAB, I feel for your situation. You all need to get Paul Bryant JR. off the BOT. Seems as if his Boards every move is to keep UAB subservient to Tuscaloosa.

I am looking forward to playing you guys in hoops. I was at Charlotte during the old sunbelt days and I remember a lot of good battles with the blazers. Really good to be in the same conference again. BTW I was jealous of UAB for a while. You guys had football and I always said "why can't we?" Since our schools have similar profiles in a few ways.
Anyway keep fighting on the on campus arena. I read about the history. That's BS.

Exactly! He (bryant jr.)is protected(as is that board as a whole) by this state's sports media, lawmakers, & our city's mayor, William Bell and governor "boob" bentley, all or most of whom are "diehard bammer fans" with a clear and definite agenda, to control and dominate the state's sports climate, it's a model structure of corruption, systematic obstruction and political oppression. Birmingham lost an NFL expansion franchise back in the early 70's because of bryant, sr(see "Tampa Bay Buccaneers").
His boy is just carrying on his daddy's legacy, much to the detriment of Blazer Nation and the city of Birmingham. If you could have been in on that meeting in November 2 years ago to witness what many of us saw going down before our very eyes, you would come to know firsthand why so many of us are still outraged and with these people to this day, & most UAB sports fans won't be satisfied until there is equal treatment for all campuses under the UA system, or a complete separation of UAB from their tyranny. Don't see either one taking place in this lifetime. Corruption is just a way of life around here.
