NY State = Gun owners are criminals and sex offenders................eh.

I'm guessing because he never touched anyone and college aged people are of legal age. It's creepy and illegal to secretly tape people, but it is not a sex crime. If the images were of underage people... THEN it would have been a different story and he'd have to register.

I agree that it is not a sex crime. He did not touch anyone. Not even touchable area.

I do wonder if he sold the pictures and video to web sites. A lot of web sites hosts pictures and video of naked athletes in the locker room. Apparently a lot of women and gay men like to watch naked athletes.

He didn't. The judge said he was lucky he didn't put them online or the punishment would have been much worse.

What's will all the pervs in that part of the country? You got Sandusky, the Syracuse asst basketball coach, then this media relations freak. What the phuck?

Oh and surprise surprise, it's not on ESPN.com.

EDIT: Just did a google search from Jan. 1st 2012 to May 1st 2013 and his name did not pop up until Jan 2013 so it isn't old news from the beginning of bball season.

Basketball season starts in mid to late November. The first story about the case appeared on December 19, 2012.

On December 6, 2012. An employee was looking through football footage to assemble a video. While doing so he stumbled across the stuff.

"On Dec. 6, another athletic department employee noticed an extended period of post-game locker-room footage – about 14 to 15 minutes - on the video from the Oct. 27 football game against South Florida in Tampa, Fla.

That employee, who Fitzpatrick did not identify, noticed the footage was “clearly inappropriate” and notified a supervisor."

So, people in syracuse knew about it 6 months ago, but no one else did. Got it.

Try reading the links...instead of throwing stones. The story broke publicly about a month after the issue was brought up. He was fired almost immediately. Carry on with your hate.

Well, the people in Syracuse and everyone else who is fluent in English, can read, and cares knew about it for 6 months, but nobody else did (except those who were told about it).

I still think what happened in Syracuse is minor compared to Penn State. Taking naked picture of young adult is one thing, putting pen1s into teenage boys' anus is another.

No. After he was fired he got a job with a professional team in Israel. I only think he was there few months. The last time I heard anything about him was during the Final Four. He apparently purchased tickets to attend it when Syracuse defeated Marquette in the Elite Eight.

Yup. You're accused on page 1, but cleared on page 24....

I think that he's doing alright, though. I think that he's still in Israel, and I imagine that he will stay there. He is kind of old and it will take a long while before the stigma surrounding his name clears.

Both Syracuse and Penn St. have disgraceful management, fans and students alike should be ashamed by their leadership.

Nobody said that it wasn't a big deal. It just isn't breaking news.

And the investigators actually said that the university complied and aided their investigation in every way possible. Other than not hire the guy in the first place, there isn't anything that the management could do. Unfortunately, at least to the best of my knowledge, I don't know how they could have known about this guy ahead of time.

Looking around for video equipment would have been a good way to catch him early. I imagine schools will start doing that as a result of this incident. You know if one person is doing it, someone else probably is, or a copycat will come along sooner or later...

All public shower rooms should be periodically checked for stuff like this... they really better start checking the high school locker rooms too.

Why stop there? Any school with a gymnasium and showers should be screened for video equipment. After all, children get exploited this way too...

And for that matter, commercial fitness centers. You are right...elementary and Jr High schools as well. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.04-cheers

The guy was discovered. He was fired quickly. The media story broke almost immediately. What wasn't know immediately was why he was fired. More details came out the next month. A simple google search will tell you all this...but you are a butt hurt hater.

I swear some of the people on these boards have no friggin context of finding facts first before blasting off on their agendas.

There was nothing wrong the administration did...to lump Syracuse with PSU is just showing ignorance.

Sure ................ and there are no pervs in San Francisco.

Homophobe.

Yes, I'm joking, and no, I don't think pervs are limited to that geographical area. Hell, we had Musburger getting a little overly excited about the Bama QB's girlfriend (which was blown way out of proportion). Just a coincidental chain of events in regards to PSU and SU.

So, was Fine really cleared? Or did they just not have enough evidence to proceed. What's kind of the conventional wisdon on that?

If he was cleared, like that dude in the Atlanta Olympics bombing, then it is really a shame, because then an innocent man had his reputation ruined.
