ND wants to play in every section of the country.

It really likes the ACC five game deal for additional Northeast and especially Southeast recruiting exposure.

It has six home games in Indiana. ND doesn't need to play three Big Ten schools a year for Midwest exposure.

This series is being considered as the potential replacement for the cancelled Michigan series.

The West Coast is covered by Southern Cal/Stanford.

This will do the trick for Southwest and Texas exposure, if it is finalized.

Comming up next on NBC! :)

Just a wild guess on my part but it may be something like this:

--4 games at Texas

--4 games at ND

--1 game at Jerry Jones' joint

--1 game at a neutral site of ND's choosing (Soldier Field? Lucas Oil Stadium?......Met Life Stadium?)

Should be a win/win. I expect UT will try and get a thanksgiving game or two out of it.

It is quite possible to do this. Every other year, ND ends the season at Stanford.

Southern Cal insists on playing its games in South Bend in October, they are unwilling to risk cold weather.

So, an ND/Texas Thanksgiving Day game in those years may happen.

Yeah, brain cramp. Long day at work. I answered wrongly.

They play Southern Cal or Stanford on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

So, they are on the West Coast that weekend every year.

They would have to move the Stanford game or something.

I doubt that they would mess with the USC game.

Bevo is responding to A&M and the SEC to keep from being second fiddle in the Lone Star State.

Not really, they've been trying to get an annual series with ND long before any of this realignment round started

Good games. I'd rotate Labor day and Thanksgiving week-end every year + skip the neutral site games, no need to play anywhere but on campus. Texas joining the acc with an nd type deal someday might not be that crazy of a concept either.

I wouldn't really want it an every year deal. 4 out of 10 as is currently scheduled is nice. Gives freedom to play other schools while keeping it special, but still frequent.

Maybe, but there has to be a reason why it finally happens now. I had to laugh when I heard the comments Gordon Gee made about negotiating with Notre Dame (South Bend is my home town). I'd bet ND gets everything they want out of this deal.

ND-UT could be played on championship Saturday the first week in December, given that neither the Big 12 nor the Notre Dame Conference (h/t Bobby Bowden) have a conference title game.

Basically they have built their own conference.

Let's see now that would be USC, Navy, Stanford, and Texas on a regular basis. Michigan State four out of every six years and the 5 ACC games.

Cheers,
Neil

What about Purdue? I thought they were going to be playing them fairly regularly.

Rumor is that the regular series is off between them. Might play here and there, but not close to an annual basis anymore.

Cheers,
Neil
