ACC Bowl lineup looking good ...
According to Jeremy Fowler:

$ACC bowl lineup almost done. Top six set, per source: Orange, Russell Ath, Music City/Gator (rotation), Belk, Pinstripe, Sun.

Very nice lineup, five quality bowls after the Orange. 04-cheers

RE: ACC Bowl lineup looking good ...
By my math, they still need another four, maybe five, with 14 schools plus Notre Dame.

Yes, but ... it's not like they aren't going to get those. They will sign 3-4 more ties with the likes of the Military Bowl, the Independence Bowl, etc.

In other words, a high-quality lineup is assured, because whereas there was legitimate uncertainty about what the quality of their first 4-5 bowls was going to be, there is no doubt at all that their 6-9 teams will be in bottom-feeder bowls, and that's all the need for those teams.

Per Fowler:

ACC expects to keep three of these four bottom-tier bowls: Detroit, Military, AdvoCare, Liberty. That would make a nine-bowl lineup in 14-19

Plus Cap one may be in mix

Cap One will be in the mix those years when the B1G puts a team in the OB, which will be at least 3 times in the next 12 years.

think it's very interesting that Fowler didn't mention the Cap One Bowl at all. Maybe that's gone by the wayside(maybe in exchange for getting the 2nd slot for the Russell Athletic Bowl all the time).

It's just a tweet, which is limited by characters and the Cap One isn't a full-time tie-in. There hasn't been a story posted yet. I wouldn't parse words on that issue just yet.

True, but Cap One would be such a coup that if it was going to be a part of the ACC rotation, even part time, I think that would have gotten in either the tweet or a 2nd tweet quite frankly. Also the fact that with the smaller bowl tweet he said that would make a 9 bowl lineup in 14-19 makes it really seem like that's gone.

Are the bowls listed in order for the pick selection? It would mean the ACC holding on the Sun Bowl will have their #6 vs the #4 they currently send. If true, the Sun may be downgraded and the PAC may follow also?

i'd kind of think it woudl be in order for the pick selection.

I think though if you add ND and the others, the quality of team coming from ACC would be at least the same as before, if not higher quite frankly.

The ACC is rumored to be using the same system Delany outlines below for its bowl selection.

"Delany said the Big Ten will not be locked into sending a team from a specific slot in the standings to the Pinstripe Bowl -- or to any of its bowls outside the College Football Playoff system."

"All of us in college football are making an effort to sort of change from a system of pure selection to a system of working with the bowl and the conference to place a team that makes sense," he said. "That means for us we're going to try to get over an 8-year period, a minimum of six and a maximum of eight different teams here."

I'd be surprised if the ACC went along with that though. ACC for years has had the strongest rules in terms of the bowls selecting teams with their 1 win rule.

PAC could go

1 Rose
2 Alamo
3 Holiday
4. Kraft
5. Sun
6. Vegas
7. BWW
8. New Mexico (if they keep this one or it could go CUSA or AAC versus MWC)

FIFY you dropped off the last bit of the quote.

New Mexico is a good bowl for about half the teams in the PAC12...I would think they would want to keep it.

The Sun is in a four-bowl pool which will rotate the #3-#6 of the ACC. Also included in the pool are the Belk, Music City/Gator, and Pinstripe.

Wilner said last week that he thinks the Pac will have those eight in that order.
