Friday-Sunday
We start Friday. All three days at 3pm CT.

UNC must be thrilled at the Friday start as well.

All about the ESPN.

HUGE advantage to NC State, especially since we have to kill two days traveling (tomorrow home to Houston) and Late Wednesday or early Thursday to Raleigh.

Hope they travel late Wednesday, so they can have a full day's rest in Raleigh.

RE: Friday-Sunday
So would this cause us to pitch Stephens on Friday? Likely vs. Carlos Rodon for NC State? What a matchup

Seems like it would make more sense to fly straight from Oregon to Raleigh

RE: Friday-Sunday
Call me naive, but I'm not that worried about the schedule.

I am really excited that we won. My two trips to omaha were in 06 and 07. Each time we were the 2-0 team after thrillers against Miami and UNC. And once back home, the air came out of the balloon both times.

This is the first time in a VERY long time that we were in a two-to-win-one situation and we one the second after losing the first.

I have posted about the pitching staff all year. We played four games and only four pitchers threw meaningful pitches. But NCState has to be looking at us and saying those four guys can really deal (Yes Simms was off but he has a lot of good outings under his belt).

I'm stunned that we played four games and didn't see McCanna or McDowell, but I can't complain about the win.

RE: Friday-Sunday
Not surprising on the Friday start considering who else is in our bracket. The Friday-Sunday games tend to be the more marquee ones, and OU/LSU, UNC/USC, UCLA/Fullerton, and Rice/NC State games are all extremely intriguing match-ups. Meanwhile, the other side of the bracket has Mississippi State/Virginia, Kansas State/Oregon State, Louisville/Vanderbilt and Indiana/Florida State. Only the Louisville/Vanderbilt match-up can really compare to any of the four on our side of the bracket (and ours is probably will be the least featured of the four Friday starting supers).

I will be very curious to hear our travel schedule. And also whether Perrott is out for the year or not.

RE: Friday-Sunday
I like that not only are we Friday-Sunday, but UNC and Rice -- the last and penultimate teams to clinch the SR spot -- are the first two teams to start the SRs.
