Interesting, Coach Haynes/staff did a satellite KSU Football Camp in Cincinnati last Thursday. I am sure that will only KSU's chances of pulling talent from metro Cincinnati.

- Cincinnati Withrow senior linebacker Reggie Howard has orally committed to play football at Kent State, according to Cincinnati.com.

Howard, who is a member of the 2014 class, is 6 feet 4 and 225 pounds. He is a very athlete linebacker who was recruited by former Withrow coach Doc Gamble, who is now a Kent State assistant.

- Aurora senior quarterback George Bollas has reportedly been offered by Kent State, according to ScoutingOhio.com. Bollas, a member of the 2014 class, scored the first four touchdowns in a 34-14 win over Twinsburg in the Division II regional final last season, according to Cleveland.com. Aurora finished as a state semifinalist.

- The University of Akron offered Cincinnati Princeton cornerback Tyrell Gilbert on Sunday night, according to Cincinnati.com.

Gilbert, who will be a senior this season, is the team’s quarterback. He is being recruited as an athlete, wide receiver and defensive back from various college programs.

Gilbert, who is 6 feet 1 and 205 pounds, also has offers from Kent State, Ball State, Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami University, Western Michigan and Buffalo.

I believe that same Mark Porter that has the recruiting updates also played football for the Flashes back in the 90s.

Nice to see us grabbing a high school LB with that size already, with a training table and weight program he could really get to a great size with quality weight.

Miles Hibbler from Troy OH committed to KSU Football yesterday. He is the 1st RB recruit in this class and 3rd overall.

According to various Internet and social media sources, Kent State has received verbal commitments from four recruits that will be part of its 2014 class:

— Stefano Millin, a 6-4, 250-pound offensive lineman from Massillon Perry High School.

— Miles Hibbler, a 5-10, 190-pound running back from Troy, Ohio.

— Luke Callahan, a 6-4, 277-pound offensive lineman from Olentangy Liberty High School in Powell, Ohio.

— Aurora quarterback George Bollas (6-2, 190), who threw for 1,170 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 701 yards and 11 more scores during his junior season in 2012. His verbal commitment has been confirmed.

All four players will be high school seniors this fall.

It is against NCAA rules for Haynes to comment on any verbal commitments.

Its a combination of both. Paul Haynes is a tireless worker and recruiter, who will go wherever he needs to go to represent KSU @ events or on the recruiting trail.
