Memphis is considered the frontrunner for hosting the New AAC basketball tournament. Looks like UCONN doesn't want to go to a crappy city! 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

They could do a lot worse.

The NBA writers raved about Memphis, the food, and how close to the arena everything is. This being the first tournament for the new conference, the locals will support it in a big way.

RE: This is some funny reading....
Some of the comments touting northeastern sites reminded me of the story my dad told about his time at Worcester Tech in Mass in the mid1920s. He was asked why he did not go home for Christmas vacation one year. He told the New Englanders that he couldn't because by the time he took the train to D.C. and then traveled by stagecoach to B'ham, there was not enough time to make the round trip back to school for resumption of classes. Many seemed to believe his story. Keep in mind that at that time there were no paved intercity highways in the whole state of Alabama.

Like UConn fans can complain about Memphis in terms of a city. I guess they are used to NYC which is hard to beat in terms of a "city".

Memphis is the logical place. The facility is outstanding along with the location.

Folks in Connecticut are the ultimate snobs without having a reason to be snobs.
