Rice @ Oregon - Sunday Night Regional Final
So the Ducks wrapped up their game at 5:05 CDT, allowing for an on-time (6:00 CDT) start for the Sunday Night Regional Final (recognizing that there could also be a Monday regional final).

RE: Rice @ Oregon - Sunday Night Regional Final
Not only did Irvin rest their bullpen, but Horton rested two-thirds of their starting position players in Game 1 so they'd be rested for our game this evening. Gutsy call, but it worked. I'd imagine we get their mid-week starter tonight (Jr RHP Jeff Gold) tonight, and if they beat us, they'll likely go back to Reed tomorrow as he only threw 5.2 inning on Friday.

J.Gold (RS Jr RHP): 12 app, 4 starts, 3-0, 36.0 IP, 2.50 ERA, .252 BAA, 8 BBs, 31 Ks

...not exactly a slouch...and he beat Stanford twice this year, shutting them out 3 weeks ago.

The usual lineup against right-handers....

Quote:Rice Owls‏@RiceOwlsdotcom17m
Rice lineup: Stainback SS, Stringer 2B, Cook LF, Ratterree RF, Hoelscher 3B, Aquino DH, Byrd CF, Perrott C, Ewing 1B, Simms P. 6:05 pm CST

...except Byrd moved in front of Perrott. Go Owls! Rat needs to break out of his recent funk.

At least the glare from the sun will be in full force for both teams to deal with in the early part of the game. To paraphrase coach Holtz, "someone has to pay for what happened last year, and it has to be Oregon." Go get em Owls.

According to ESPN3, this game is "blacked out" in my area. Anyone else getting this? Am I forced to watch this on gametracker? Ugh!!!

Only thing I can think of is that the game is being moved to ESPN2 after the Louisville game.

None that I know of. This game isn't on TV anywhere else as far as I know.

Yeah, this is weird.

I think maybe ESPNU will be showing it?

There's no way they just black it out without televising it somewhere, right?

Maybe Comcast, Jim Crane, and the Astros are to blame.
