I voted for MWC but the MAC was right behind them and I could have easily cast my vote for them.

I voted for the MAC for current logos though I think the original MWC logo was the best.

RE: who has the best Go5 conference logo?
these new logos and conference changes got me thinking about conference stability so I looked up the founding dates for the Go5 and P5 conferences and was surprised at the stark contrasts between the two groups.

Go5, year established-

2013- American
1999- Mountain West
1995- CUSA
1976- Sun Belt
1946- Mid American (10/13 members joined prior to creation of other Go5 conferences)

P5, year established-

1994- Big 12 (8/12 founding schools still members, 4 left 2011 or later)
1953- Atlantic Coast (7/8 founding schools still members, founding member Maryland leaving 2014. Only other school to leave- S Carolina, 1953-1971)
1932- Southeastern (10/13 founding schools still members, last school to leave- Tulane, 1932-1966)
1915- Pacific 12 (4/4 founding schools still members. Only 2 schools have ever left- Montana, 1924-1950; Idaho, 1922-1959)
1896- Big Ten (6/7 founding schools still members, 7 schools members 100+ years. Only 1 school has ever left- Chicago, 1896-1946)

RE: who has the best Go5 conference logo?
My rankings:

1. American. Not perfect. I would have not made the star offset, but still the best, imo.
2. MAC. Great logo. Tossup with American, but I went with American.
3. CUSA. OK. Not spectactuar but has some brand equity.
4. MWC. Should have stuck with old logo
5. Sun Belt. What is this logo? It looks like a piece of candy.

The Sun Belt font and logo are fantastic. If SunBelt were a brand of dish soap I'd buy the hell out of it. It's not a good sports logo though.

With the over the top red-white-blue color sheme, traditional block letters, and star I can't be the only one thinking this:

I say all the G5 logos are better than all the P5 logos.

I don't like counting the PAC as starting then. Yes it was the same basic group with similar names and they claim to have the history but they disbanded and created a new conference I personally think that if you disband and start a new conference you have a new start date. To me it would be like saying the SEC and ACC could use the Southern Conference start date because they were all in it and then left and recreated a new conference for themselves. Granted in their case the southern conference still exists but the original conference that the PAC represented disbanded and then they created a new conference all together.

MWC still reminds me of Doctor Who

The MWC's former logo was much better, IMO:

I'll admit I'm biased to C-USA.. it's simple, no real frills and says what it needs to (red/blue with white 'trim'.. okay so the silver star sticks out a little bit).

But if MWC had kept the mountain logo, they would EASILY have the top of the 5. Why they changed it.. who knows. (More money for merchandise I guess).

If the AAC lost the text at the bottom, I'd say it's an improvement, as the Athletic Conference bit sticks out like a sore thumb to me, but they really needed to have found away to get the second A in the logo (and no, the shadow doesn't count to me).

1. C-USA
2. MAC
3. MWC
4. AAC
5. Sun Belt (I get the purpose of the Sun and the 12 spokes, but I've never understood why just the two colors (blue/yellow)... change it to match your schools and it'd jump the AAC (and possible the MWC.)

03-lmfao I would have gone with 'Murica. Also it needs more PEW PEW PEW in there. Make it 1 "A" and sprinkle in a few crushed Budweiser bottles on the bottom.

I was thinking the same thing. They changed the font and made the star look a little more...retarded.

I'd never seen the Arlington logo, but my reaction on another site was basically, "We're the American, we can't afford to hire graphic artists who can draw stars right!!!"

Still like it better than the "jet engine from the front" Sunbelt logo.

I like the Sun Belt logos better than the AAC logos. The single A makes me think the name of the school starts with an A. Maybe if the logo was AAC it would be better.

I am not a fan of the American though I really don't care for the Sun Belt either. The American one at least feels more dynamic. The Sun Belt has a logo that would look right at an airport or in old Epcot.

Jr.. i was referring to the primary logo. Up it to one spoke per team, and make each spoke the top color of each school.

I guess the funny thing is... the gang of 5 has more total votes than the pack of 5. Revenue split should be modeled based on the percentages in these polls... the gang of 5 have more fans? 03-nutkick
