This time, it seems to be for a decent reason (tough to say anything about an assistant getting a head gig elsewhere).

HIRE TAMIR NOW!!!

I know he has aspirations of playing overseas but if offered a position on the staff, I hope it's something he considers.

Barring that, I absolutely hope that they try to find someone local. We don't need another West Coast person on our coaching staff. We need someone who knows Texas basketball.

Tamir always conducted himself with class under some difficult circumstances. He would be a great representative for Rice.

Brock Gillespie applied last year and was turned down for both positions.

Not sure if this deserves its own thread or not, but I saw that Tamir will be playing for the New Orleans Pelicans summer league team. Hope they put him in a role he can actually thrive in, which we were never really able to do with our roster situation. Would like to see how he can do then. If he plays with the aggressiveness and strength that he did in the tournament game against Houston, I think he can open some eyes; although not necessarily NBA eyes.

Well we have another opening on our staff. Maybe this time we'll hire someone local.
