The ridiculous hostility on this board since the announcement has been cranked up to 11, and a few ECU posters are in ultra-defensive mode. I don't blame them.

THANK YOU!

Then stop acting like you just got invited to the SEC. You chased a payday and ended up in the same seat just that you were in just admit it. It is how you all come off. You are running to a conference that 11 schools could not get out of fast enough. You keep pointing to ODU, UNCC, UTSA, NT, FIU, and FAU as the basis of your arguement. They are only in CUSA becuase you all left. You don't leave and most likely UC, USF, UCONN, and Temple are in CUSA. Little tidbit here UC had actually been talking with CUSA to see if that door was open if need be. Had you stayed it would have needed to be. I also know that Temple was looking at going back to the MAC. There was a period of time we could have killed off the Big East and became even stronger but you all got greedy and thought you were going to get millions and you got around 800k and had to pay more than that to get it. You are in a conference that is split into tiers and if 2 teams from the top tier leave you lose your tv deal.

This is what I just flat out don't agree with. You call it being in the same seat. I call it moving into a conference with UCONN, Cincy, USF, Temple, and perennial C-USA East and West Champions UCF, Houston, and Tulsa, among others. We have a better TV deal than we had in C-USA. Maybe not a big difference in $, but in terms of exposure, we took a BIG step up. ENORMOUS step up in coverage and exposure for Men's Basketball.

So, we're playing better teams, have better TV $, and better TV exposure than we did when we were in C-USA. Sure, a few of our former C-USA mates are in the new conference with us, but that doesn't mean we "ended up in the same seat" that we were in before.

I don't think any AAC fan (Yes, ECU fans included) are making comparisons to the SEC in any way, shape, or form. We know we aren't an elite league. We're just happy to have a new, potentially better opportunity with some new faces.

And UConn, Cincy and USF are angry, you really think they want to be with you. WoW you are touting Temple. Temple never beat a MAC school with a winning record and went 4-7 last year.

Your contract is with ESPN. I can bet you that your exposure will end up on Tues, Wends or Thurs. And to that you can't say we don't play on weekdays. You will not take any Sat spots unless its on ESPNU at noon. Also you will be playing a lot of ESPN3 games.

You really think we wanted to be with Marshall, Rice, UTEP and the rest of CUSA 2.0? No, but we got over it...so will UConn, Cincy, and USF.

hell no!!! you didn't want to be with UTEP, we own you!!! and by the way, do you want to check our ncaa championship swagger?

Football wise, after next year the AAC will be pretty much in the same boat as CUSA when bowl season starts no matter how much larger the budgets are. It'll take them all but a miracle season to even be considered for one of those playoff spots. And let's be real, even with basketball if any 2 of UConn, Cinci or Memphis leave that conference is over with. It's already a given that two of them WANT to leave, if that invite ever comes it's good night.

Actually its Cincy, UCONN, Temple and UH.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything, but I think Sunny is right. Out of those three, any two could terminate the contract...two from group A or one from A and one from B. That's the way the ESPN article reads anyway.
