and without Percy Harvin or Sidney Rice they are desperate for WR help

in other news the Seattle Seahawks love the Vikings administration.

Sidney Rice had one big year and was overpaid by the Seahawks. If I were betting on it, I'd say there is no way he plays that contract out. I don't think the Vikings made a bad move there. They should have done whatever it took to keep Harvin though.

Let's also not forget the Seahawks did this as well:

I'm glad those morons in Minnesota finally figured things out though. Joe can probably line up just about anywhere on the field which should make it easier to get the ball to him.

I'm hoping Jennings and Patterson both come in and have some success right away. If they can stretch the field a little, that will open up a lot of space for Joe.

Put Webb in motion,,, is the QB gonna hand him the ball or not.. if so will he run or pass. If not, he can catch a swing pass or go long, or be a decoy,,,, Just get him on the field.

My favorite is the one saying to keep him on the field so he could continue to be a bust. Don't know how/when 6th rounders started being called busts.

Since they never rose to the level of Tom Brady.

Since they weren't given an opportunity to prove otherwise.

Well anyone who watched all the pre-season games each year and watched the online camp stuff pretty much knew Joe was never given a fair shake at qb from day one. Hope he impresses enough to latch on somewhere else and salvage the rest of his career with a team with half a brain at whatever position they want him.

RE: Vikes Coach wants Joe Webb on the field....
I'm not saying this is or isn't the case with Joe, but I have seen many QBs put up monster numbers in the preseason and do nothing or not even make a roster once the regular season began. Basically, preseason numbers mean about as much to me as each and every one of Alabama's National Championship Trophies.

From what I watched, Joe was never an NFL QB. He is a tremendous athlete, with enormous potential, but it was never going to be full filled at that position. Plenty of great college QB's never get a "fair shake" at QB in the NFL. How many guys have sat behind Brady, Manning, and Brees for the past decade having basically no shot of ever playing?

I hope Joe picks things up quickly, and I hope Ponder has a great year.(let's not forget, he is ultimately going to have a lot to do with how Joe's season goes) If things work out well, and the team keeps winning, I hope Joe stays. There are a lot of young, talented guys on that roster, and it could be a good place to play for years to come. If that doesn't work out, I hope Joe does enough to impress another team and goes somewhere that will be best for him.

That having been said, the Vikings have had a guy like that since Fran Tarkenton.
