Toledo! Will sit out this fall, and will be eligible in '14 and will have 2 seasons left.

He hasn't played a lot so it's really hard to tell if the was 2nd or 3rd on their depth chart last year. Do we know for sure?

I looked at the last game notes for the regular season and they referred to two QBs as the backup.. They listed two separated by the word 'or".

The fact that he picked coming to a MAC school when he had Big Ten offers is a compliment to how highly the conference is regarded. Guys know that if they perform in the MAC, the NFL notices.

Sounds like he was third in terms of snaps taken but I can't find the link where I read that.

Alabama list two players at several players at the second of the two-deeps.

So maybe one could look at some stats...

Played in 6 games as a Fr. 3 for 4 1 TD passing. 1 for -2 yds rushing.

That is why stats for backups (FB and hoops) are so difficult to interpret.

To me, a basketball player needs to be in a game say at least 5 minutes so that he can be in the flow to get 'his shots'.

For a QB, he needs at least an entire series, hopefully not with his team leading by 30 so he hands the ball off 6 out of 6 plays.

Maybe someone from an Alabama board who has seen him in spring ball can enlighten.

Don't all Alabama fans attend their Spring Game? 03-idea

Or that he simply went to the place where he thought he would see first string action the quickest.

Bingo! A BCS school will recruit a couple QBs each that will provide him competition while he should be the best at a MAC program. It would suck sitting a year out as a transfer at Big 10 U to find out they recruited 2 kids better and now your career is essentially over.

I just found the Sporting News College FB Yearbook (man, they are out early this year).

He was not listed as the 2nd string QB.

I assume these articles for the big schools use the 2-deeps from Spring ball.
