Stitchead is probably pretty happy about the field: Four of the five teams
he said should be in (but probably won't) are in: William & Mary, San Francisco, Coastal Carolina & UC-Santa Barbara. (His fifth pick, Pittsburgh, did not.)
On the other hand, two of the teams he said should NOT get in (but probably would) did not make the field: Auburn & Notre Dame. (Three others did: A&M, Illinois and Florida.)
On the ESPN show, there were only two lame questions for the committee head (by phone), who had even lamer answers: 1) Florida State's national seed despite it's 0-4 finish ("body of work" -yawn) and 2) Clemson going to South Carolina for the second year in a row ("committe parameters we're required to follow by the NCAA").
At the end of the show, Peterson wondered by Campbell and Ohio State didn't make the field, and McDonald though Notre Dame should have as well. I didn't hear them talk about any teams that were in that they thought should not have been.
Seems like a pretty good field. I'm happy that the Owls are going to Eugene. Hopefully it won't be too cool/damp for our guys. It'll certainly be better than going to Autzen Stadium for a dripping-wet fall football game.
Go Owls!!
