Look at what happened to our offense in only one year......good god. Not a single player.

ECU well represented on all 3 teams. I like it. Think Vintavious Cooper ends up post-season 1st Team All-CUSA RB.

ECU with 7 players on the offensive teams and 7 on the defensive teams. Not bad.

Not if Kevin Grooms has anything to do with it. Grooms barely ran the ball the first couple games with Travon Van starting. Grooms was a beast as a freshman.

The Herd lands 16 total....8 on offense, 7 on defense and 1 on special teams!

Should be a good league for RB's. Usually is. Cooper didn't even start the first few games... and was used in a rotation of 3-4 running backs the rest of the year... and STILL rushed for 1,049 yards. He'll get the brunt of the carries this year.

We'll have a lot more on the post-season all-CUSA teams. I can promise you that.

Grooms for 700+ in a pass happy offense along with being in a 3-4 back rotation as well. Gonna be a fun year!

I don't doubt it. USM has been the flagship and will continue to raise the bar for C-USA football.

Man, if prognosticators are worth a damn, that ECU-Marshall game this fall is going to be sweet.

ECU and USM are brothers in history long before Cusa...............Let the wantabees talk and tell you what they are going to do on paper but yet has little or no history success on field of play............ USM has always been the road stop to all Cusa Football Championship for ECU and any other school who has won a championship. Ask UCF who beat USM in overtime last season and if not ECU would have won eastern division.
Again, just an opinion and nothing more...............just like Phil Steele.

RE: Phil Steele Pre-Season CUSA Team
Two most surprising things for me...

Devon Smith who hasn't played a down for Marshall is 2nd team.

And Kevin Grooms who easily the most gifted RB in a 3 RB rotation is 3rd team.

Love all those 1st teamers.

I wonder why Trey Watts got the nod over Darrin Reaves.

S-Triston Wade is a beast. No way he's 4th best CUSA Safety. Once again UTSA getting no love. No big deal, teams from San Antonio always play with a chip on our shoulder.

Without having looked at the lists, could you have named another safety in CUSA?

Didn't think so.
