I lost interest when they started having the pretend tea party.

I take it we lost.

Wow. That was an unfortunate pitching meltdown. I feel bad for Streetman. I've seen that movie before...

I thought so, too--especially after the second walk.

Florida softball is known for wanky hbp calls.

I didn't see a pitcher meltdown. Ump called the middle inside pitch and outside low-&away pitch a strike all day. Didn't call them strikes for the 1st 2 batters of the b7. Game ends up tied. Then he becomes a smart ass and calls them after the game was tied. Anyways lets win games 2 and 3.

UAB has the will to keep any game their in tight, but they lack the batting ability to be an elite team.

I'm going to go ahead and say that if we lose. Tomorrow, it will be because of bad officiating.

Blazer fans are the biggest crybabies when it comes to officiating.

With fans like these, who needs rivals? No wonder we don't play Memphis anymore.

UAB just scored 3 runs on a team that only allowed 2 throughout their entire regional. UAB has more than enough "batting ability".

RE: Saturday's game on a movie screen
I've had my share of games where I go "we shouldn't have won" or "shouldn't have got that call". Base/Soft-ball is particularly sensitive to "crybaby"-ing because the strike zone is probably the most variable entity in sports. My gripe isn't the strike zone.

Maybe the UF player's thigh flared a hair less than our player when turning away from the pitch (that's debatable, and our player was further into her swing), it was still close enough to be the same; to put this in MemphisBlazer terms its comparable to back-to-back calls where one team gets a blocking foul and 2 shots and the other team gets a charge and a turnover for the same thing.

But as we all know, you can't have a 1 run/shot/score lead and expect the umpires to hand you the win if it's close.

That may be because baseball doesn't have fake tea parties, and the players don't wear fake beards and tiaras in the dugout.

I take it you don't follow the San Francisco Giants.

I agree. I thought the strike zone was squeezed in the bottom of the 7th. No crying. Just my opinion.

Two of those were scored because of Florida's defense. This is a great team because of its pitching, defense, and drive. All I was saying was that with more offense this team would be near unstoppable.

UAB stat rankings: stats

(Can't get the link to let you go straight to the stats page.)

UAB is only ranked in the top one hundred teams in one offensive category, and that's in the 92 spot for home runs per game.

Lets go out tomorrow and win!

I'm with you, MB. The last thing I want to see is athletes having fun and showing emotion while they're playing ball.

Yup, we learned well from your favorite team 50 miles to the West.

The horse is already out of the barn on you prediction. If you watched the game and have a clue what a strikezone is, you know that Streetman wasn't given a fair chance at success. And two girls that were hit by pitch in the 7th were dubious calls at best.
