I don't see Saint Louis joining the MVC. It made much more sense in the past and now being in an East coast conference allows them to have a footprint there for recruiting as well as more pay.

SLU fans are hoping for the best (Big East), but silently preparing for the worst (MVC). I just don't see the A-10 and SLU co-existing much longer .

Remember, our win/lose percentage was higher than the A-10's this year.

If St. Louis is left on an island, would the A-10 go after perhaps, Belmont? They make a nice bridge between St. Louis and Davidson. Could Loyola (IL) be moving again?

The Missouri Valley could be the Western Conference of the NBA, and SLU fans would be up in arms about going to it. Hence the "worst case scenario" comment.

With the Big East taking Creighton, and the Atlantic 10 taking GMU and Davidson, I think both the A-10 and St. Louis know the Big East will invite St. Louis next year, just hasn't been announce yet. Right now there is a gap between Creighton and Marquette and DePaul. St. Louis would help fill that gap and is a quality basketball program.

Agree that SLU is a non-brainer #11 for the Big East, problem is, unless the Big East just wants 11 teams, there is no consensus on who 12 should be which might hold up SLU from joining.

I'm a longtime Valley fan because of Arch Madness. Very fun tourney even though I didn't have a dog in the fight.

But some moves are better talked about than actually done.

SLU fits the puzzle. The fact that Creighton was chosen in 1st round suggests tro me that there will be more BE expansion. If SLU was chosen and not Creighton, at this point in time, i would be less ceretain of the BE going to 12.
According to reports ive read the BE will address going to 12 AFTER they get a commish and the league is officially up and running. At least 2 presidents said they arent done yet

Should the A10 lose more than 2 members, Belmont would be the next logical addition. I think NKU needs a few more years in the A-Sun, but they would also be a nice add because they've got great potential and proven success (albeit not in D-1).

If Davidson can keep their football in the SoCon, probably not very long; I'll say four years

That assumes Davidson's basketball success will exceed numerous other candidates and that the Big East would want more than 12 schools.

The consensus is that Saint Louis will be member #11. Who's to say Davidson couldn't be #12? They don't seem to have any wishes to move up in football and they're in an area the Big East does not cover.

Davidson is in a nice large metro city in the south, however, looking at their enrollment which is barely over 1,000, that is AWFULLY small. Not sure they have a large enough fanbase to get a decent amount of support.

Davidson plays non-scholarship FCS football in the Pioneer League.
