RE: 2013 MAC Baseball Tournament
Sure puts the 7:30 game in jeopardy, if not all of them. If it stops raining, I think they will try to get in whatever they can. I think the field is a good one and will be playable after a bit if it would stop raining. They have a real mess if they have to cram in all these games with the ones Friday. The weather is supposed to be good, though, tomorrow.

Edit: or what J Guy says.

Man, that is a rough day tomorrow for BG and UT, especially the loser.

RE: 2013 MAC Baseball Tournament
The field they're playing on is all turf (except for the pitchers mound), so you'd think they'd be able to play in some rain.

And the loser of the UT-BG game will play Buffalo in (what will not be) the 3rd of 5 games tomorrow. Then the winner of that game will play the winner of the UT-BG game in the 5th game of the day. So the loser of the UT-BG game could possibly play 3 games tomorrow.

I don't see all those games happening in one day, it would not be right to the UT-BG teams to put two or three games in one day on them. Heck if they are anything like UB some of their pitchers play infield positions on days when they are off the mound.

Heck they have not gotten four games off without issue yet and they thing five?

Besides they just moved the Miami BSU game to finish tomorrow.

I dont like that Kent isn't the "home team" against Ball St. I thought the #1 seed would be the "home team" the whole tournament.

There will be 30 minutes in between games (as opposed to the minimum 45 minutes they've been using). Doe anyone know why they need that much time? Do they take batting practice? I really see no reason why they need more than 20 minutes.

RE: 2013 MAC Baseball Tournament
Here's the schedule for tomorrow (from the MAC website):
[FYI: I put the approximate times in, giving 1 hr to finish Miami/CMU + 30 minutes in b/t, then giving the other games 2.5 hrs to play + 30 mins in b/w]

Game 6: Miami v. Central Michigan (5-5, Bottom of 6th), 9 a.m.
Game 7: Kent State v. Ball State (30 minutes following Game 6) [approx 10:30 am]
Game 8: Bowling Green v. Toledo (30 minutes following Game 7) [approx 2:00 pm]
Game 9: Miami/CMU Winner v. Kent State/Ball State Loser (30 minutes following Game 8) [approx 5:00 pm]
Game 10*: Buffalo v. Bowling Green/Toledo Loser [approx 8:00 pm]
*Game 10 is time permitting. If Game 10 is unable to be played Friday night, it will be the 9:00 a.m. game on Saturday.

The reward for being a #1 seed in baseball is a far cry from what they get in basketball. All they get is a supposed game not early or late which then gets thrown out the window when weather disrupts the schedule. The byes in basketball worked out for those teams because they were clearly above the field. In baseball Buffalo and Kent State were as well, but got little to nothing for it.

Which is why the higher seed normally batting at the end of the inning is the least they could do. Reverse it for a second game between the same teams.

Kent State was the home team against Ball State. It didn't matter. The Cards won anyway, 3-1.

They were? I thought the online thing was showing Kent State batting first.

Anyway, now we need to beat MiamiU for another chance at Ball State.

Kent St. was the home team. Just because they might be the top team on a bracket, doesn't mean they are always the 'away' team.

I was going by the MAC website. It showed Kent at Ball State. It was accurate for all the other games so I saw no reason they would be wrong there but seems they were.
