RE: seriously
I'm shocked. Stetson has a LOT to clean up now. Players transferred and the coach is gone. Now what?

RE: seriously
I posted in the ETSU forum, but I have two ideas for coaches for Stetson to look at:
1) Mark Slonaker - former Mercer coach - knows the Atlantic Sun - Loyal - GREAT recruiter - can help rebuild this program
2) Sanderson - I think he was a good coach, and Lipscomb was just not a great place to be. He would be completely loyal.

Slonaker is not an option. Stetson could not even come close to his gig at UGA now. He is the head of fundraising for one of the best athletic departments in the country!
Sanderson? Yeah...not an option.
Look for it to be Rob Wilkes type or even Steve Ritter might get a look.

I wouldn't wish Sanderson on even Belmont. He is a complete tease by bringing in good (sometimes) great recruits and not coaching them up or making good in-game decisions.
How is Lipscomb not a great place to coach basketball, by the way? Not trying to be argumentative, I've just never heard that. They have tremendous recruiting ties, one of the biggest basketball camps in the nation (huge bonus for coaches monetarily and for recruiting), one of the leading scorers in college basketball history is the new A.D. and will do whatever he can within reason to bring success back, and the campus is gorgeous and literally in the best area of Nashville (you know the big houses of the stars in the show "Nashville"? Yeah, it's that neighborhood). Kids will go for free to one of the best private schools systems in Nashville (Lipscomb has elementary through high school). Considering he lived in that neighborhood the 20 years before going to Stetson the last 2 years, it shouldn't be that big of a shock.

RE: seriously
Stetson should go after Johnny Shulman as their next MBB coach. He was recently forced-out from UT-Chattanooga and is currently working as a Director of Sales for a Chattanooga-based trucking company (Access America Transport). I know that he and Amy (his wife) are very happy in the Chattanooga area; but, I also know that since the second grade at UHS, Johnny has always wanted to be a head basketball coach. It truly is his "life's dream." A reach-out by Stetson might be enough to get him back in the coaching business where he belongs; and, at the same time, land a great coach for their program.
- 9 years as UT-Chattanooga's head coach
- 2 NCAA appearances as head coach
- 6 SoCon Division Championships
- Was an Assistant Coach at UT-C, Wofford, Tennessee Tech, and ETSU.
