News from CUSA meetings
http://www.conferenceusa.com/genrel/051513aaa.html

Not a ton of news from the meetings but a couple of things I see. We're hosting the CUSA soccer tournament next fall. Maybe we host a few other events but some are TBA.

Men's basketball games will be Thursdays and Saturdays and will have a travel partner. We don't know ours yet for sure but I'm guessing it's either UTSA or Louisiana Tech. Women's basketball games are Wednesdays and Saturdays. I actually enjoys the Sunday women's games - it's too bad they're doing both men and women on Saturdays now.

The release also says that Rice will be hosting the football championship:

That part is true, the rest of the conference just doesn't know it yet.

Men's basketball games will be Thursdays and Sundays and will have a travel partner...

Women's basketball games are Wednesdays and Saturdays...

it's too bad they're doing both men and women on Saturdays now.

Both men and women on Saturdays.

I just read the CUSA posting...

"3 - Scheduling men's basketball games with travel partners and conference games played on Thursdays and Saturdays.
4 - Scheduling women's basketball games on Wednesdays and Saturdays."

Sunday must have been a typo...

Curious would the Conference USA football championship be played at Rice Stadium or would they host it at Reliant?

Would surely depend on the $$ value of the bids made to the conference.

(Not too long ago, of course, the conference accepted a multi-year contract to have the baseball tourney in Pearl, MS (Jackson, MS suburb) ... not even in the hometown of any of its members.)

Given the vacancy of Reliant when hosting the Big XII championship, I can't imagine they'd be interested in C-USA, even with Rice playing.

I really hope it's at Rice. What's the point of home field advantage if you're not going to use it. I've never liked playing Texas or Houston (or anybody) at Reliant instead of Rice. It decreases our chances of winning. Reliant is one of the nicest stadiums anywhere, I'm sure the players like to play there and I'm sure it's mentioned in recruiting, but there should be more pride in Rice Stadium.
