Save for back-to-back well hit balls in the 2nd inning (Rat's #9 bomb and Aquino's double), we're back to hitting lazy ground balls and infield pops against a lousy southpaw pitcher. And, nnce again, absolutely no patience, despite the fact this guy has had control issues.

Very quick T5. Still 3-2 Owls.

Austin has settled down in nicely.

Another 1-2-3 inning for AK (3 ground outs), who appears to be settling down nicely. It's time for the offense to make a little (or a lot of) noise against a nothing pitcher, who's longest outing this year just over 5 innings.

Byrd struck out looking.
Ewing short pop to RF.
Stainback ground out to 3B.
Save for the one inning, we're going down like flies. Same old, same old against left-hand pitching, regardless to how good or bad that pitcher might be. The results are always the same.

Good guys lead 3-2 heading to the top of the sixth inning.

Ewings ball was well hit a few steps short of the track. Not sure where you seeing a short pop to RF?

RE: Rice vs. Marshall (Thursday Game 1)
Austin gives up a two-out single, but no further damage (3 ground outs). Can the offense muster anything? 10 straight retired, and not on ball hit well.

Stringer hits his 3rd consecutive ground ball. One out.
Hoelscher finally breaks the streak (last 11 retired) with an opposite field single....and advances to 2B on wild pitch. One out.
Ratterree flied out to CF.
Aquino grounds out to P.
Sandy Koufax reincarnated.

Good guys lead 3-2 heading to the top of the seventh inning.

Aquino has been hugging 3B line all night. Double just inside the bag, 5-3, foul just outside the bag. All hit hard. Just a matter of couple of feet one way or the other.

He then check swings a tapper back to the mound to end the 6th.

3-2 Owls

RE: Rice vs. Marshall (Thursday Game 1)
Good job by Byrd sliding hard into 2b to disrupt probable DP. Marshall complains to no avail. Runners on the corners 2 outs.

Ford walks to load bases. Another pitching change. #15
