My understanding is it will all be sold. The word Nippert will still and always be used.

Why is this thread on the AAC forum and not on the UC board?

Clifton: This is the UC board. Are you lost? I can give you a moment of two of confusion, but try to get it straight before making comments.

When he posted that comment this thread was on the AAC board. I moved it after that. Try and keep up Skippy.

From my understanding, Cincinnati's Club Level will be the only type setting that will allow the spectator to sit in an open area and also migrate to an enclosed setting behind the glass. Best of both worlds. The only stadium in the country. Secondly, the large boxes at 1 million a piece are going nicely. I think he said 12/18 sold already, club seats are also brisk. Cincinnati is also going to generate additional revenue from the field and stadium naming rights. That will soon be announced.

Vewb, for the last time stadium naming rights arent happening. Bob Goin made an agreement with the Nippert Trust that there will never be a name change to that stadium. It helps that the Nippert Trust has also pit about $300M into various donations to the campus over the past decade.

BEARCATMAN:

I'm not sure what your talking about. Naming rights will not happen? Did you read this in the Enquirer or from Paul Daughtery? Don't understand. I mentioned earlier that Brian Allen from UC explained that NAMING RIGHTS will happen soon and be announced. I think the field and the stadium will be named accordingly. For instance Cincinnati Bell at Nippert Stadium or US Bank field at Cincinnati Bell Nippert Stadium. Nippert as indicated will ALWAYS be in the name of the stadium, but additional revenues WILL be gleaned from those options. Get it!!!

By the way, if anyone cares, I hate stinking Norwood !!!! It's a gross town of white trash that I rarely visit (by mistake only).

What you said was that they would be working on stadium naming rights. That will not happen. They will take sponsorships for the boxes and club level, just as they have in the past (Hermanes Press Area, TQL Student Section, John Morrell concourse and Hershade-Shank Pavilion). I simply corrected your statement regarding the STADIUM naming. That will never be adjusted.

I don't care how much money they receive, UC should not sell the name of the field. It is Carson Field for a reason. If I'm a member of the Carson family I'm beyond PO'd. How can you honor someone and then unhonor them by removing their name for a bag of gold?

If they found a way to maintain Nippert Stadium and sell an attachment to the stadium name I can live with that although I don't like it.

I hate that they sold their souls and renamed the Shoe. Myrl H. Shoemaker deserved better.

Given the ease with which universities will sell off naming rights to big donors, they ought not bother naming anything in honor of someone any more. No one will believe the honor won't be sold for a bag of magic beans at some point in the future.

I know it's business but it's sad.

I am with you. The field and the stadium should never have naming rights sold. The stadium is safe in that regard because the Nippert Trust paid to ensure that.

Makes no sense Gertrude. The original names will remain. The university will sell naming rights for the stadium and field. Such as Cincinnati Bell at Carson Field and or Fifth Third Bank Field at Nippert Stadium. With increased TV and the new league (TV for the new league to be 65% of all games broadcast on TV), local corporations realize the potential as does the university. Only certain individuals in Norwood don't understand. The university would be foolish not to include new sponsors yet keep the original names. The university needs the revenue. That's simply a no brainer Gertrude !!

SUBFLEA:

This was posted in the Cincinnati area. Not sure why you feel it's necessary to harass me and others on this board and float your weight around. Maybe it's the Norwood thing in you. Makes you want to act like the mafia on the message boards. I'm certain Louisville fans don't harass their board members as you do with me. Maybe you need to find another hobby other than collecting unemployment checks and spouting off on the message boards as you pay for your high rent apartment in Norwood. Wake up Gertrude, the world is passing you by.

I'm not one to deal in petty squabbles, but I don't like to sit by when someone is openly lying and offending someone. When I first commented on this thread it was 100% on the AAC Conference Talk board, not the Cincinnati board. Please don't defame one of the most respected forum posters on here due to your own avarice and flame out tendencies.

RE: New Club Seats at Nippert
I don't know if they'll end up doing it, but I've heard from a pretty reliable source that they've at least looked at doing a full-stadium naming rights deal that would use this type of wording:

"Nippert Stadium, presented by [Insert Corporate Sponsor]"

It would've been for exterior signage purposes only, and the official designation of the stadium would still be "Nippert Stadium."

I think they're now leaning more towards just selling each and every aspect of the stadium short of the name, and making up for lost naming rights on volume. Definitely for sale, at this point, that was mentioned to me:

- Press Box
- BOTH East & West Concourses
- Suites
- Box / Club Level
- Student Section
- Bearcat Lair

Who, kobe? I don't care if he was just joking around. There have been enough complaints about him since he came back that he was going to be banned anyway. Just thought I would put some humor into his banning.
