ACC announces 2013 bowl-tie-ins

ACC Bowl order in 2013
1) Orange
2) Chick-fil-A
3) Russell Athletic
4) Sun
5) Belk
6) Music City
7) AdvoCare V100
8) Military
9) Kraft (Conditional - Back up to Pac-12 and BYU)

Quote: It’s already being reported that the ACC could land contracts with the Pinstripe Bowl and Gator Bowl beginning in 2014.

Possible ACC Bowl order in 2014 and beyond
1) Orange
2) Russell Athletic
3) Belk
4) Gator/Music City
5) Capitol One (Conditional)
6) Pinstripe
7) ?
8) ?
9) ?

It seems to me like the Shreveport Bowl and even maybe the Military Bowl will not be renewed by the ACC.

A by-product of the playoff (and larger conference sizes, to some extent) is going to be all of the "contract conferences" over signing bowl contracts leaving even less primary contracts available to the "non-contract conferences" meaning more secondary contracts. What a gyp.

Has there been an announcement regarding the future of the Military bowl for 2014 and beyond?

Wikipedia says it will be ACC vs Big 12 in 2013.

RE: B1G and Little Caesars Bowl
Looking over the 2014 bowl situation, I think that the SEC 8/9 or 9/10 may be split between the BBVA Compass Bowl and the Independence Bowl.

The AAC will probably keep the BBVA bowl and it looks like the ACC will not renew with the Independence and it wouldn't make much sense for the AAC to have the Independence since it would be be basically duplicating the BBVA.

I'm guessing that the slot opposite the SEC 8/9/10 is going to be either the MAC or CUSA. I hope the MAC can secure a primary spot in the Independence as the 4th bowl. Since the SEC will probably not be able to fill the Independence some/most years, it would make sense for CUSA to be the back up for them.

Its hard to say yet on the Independence and BBVA because those will be the last games filled by the SEC, if they feel a need to participate in those games.

The game in Birmingham is having sponsorship issues which could lead to it going out of business or perhaps changing locations. That may push the AAC into signing a tie with the Independence Bowl and effectively shutting the MAC out of an opportunity there.
