Common thing in college bball.

Floyd isn't the first UTEP coach to run into this.

Is this your point?

Or is this your point?

RE: Chris Washburn invovled in bar incident
Both of them are my point.

Tim Floyd is an old school coach which is to say that he is less tolerant of players who want to run and gun and play their style. It has to be Floyd's way or the highway. Haskins was the same way. Kids didn't have the green light to shoot and if you didn't play defense or took too many shots or too many chances, you rode the bench.

A lot of coaches today will live with bad decisions her and there if the kid is talented enough to score points, get steals, or generally run the floor.

One of the unwritten rules of old school coaches is that you don't give freshmen a whole lot of playing. Which is the reason that Chris Washburn wasn't getting playing time.

Back pedal fitbud, back pedal... what are you saying again? You make no sense... First of all, Chris Washburn is 6'8" and weighs 240lbs, I'm sure he doesn't want to run the floor. Chris was too inconsistent, that is why he didn't get much playing time. As far as freshmen not playing goes, you're a complete idiot... JULIAN WASHBURN averaged 34 minutes a game his freshmen year....

Clearly you don't know anything about basketball. The only reason Julian got so much playing time is because UTEP didn't have very many seniors. If I recall, they only had 2.

Which is another issue I have with Floyd.

At least Haskins was smart enough to bring in a balance of junior college talent and high school talent.

Floyd brought in a bunch of green players. I suppose he did it you so all you homers would give him three or four years before he gets criticized. Even though many of the other coaches since Haskins turned it around in year two.

Bohanon was freshman Floyd's first year? Are you sure about that because I could have sworn he played one year with Barbee.

That's what I thought. I was wrong about him playing for Barbee but I knew there was some sort of connection.

So what was your reason for mentioning Bo?

Is it that he chose to stay even though Barbee left?

Bo was a freshmen, it was to prove your were talking out of your rear end when it comes to floyd, freshmen and coaching

Bo only started ten games and like I said he had no choice since he ran off Moultrie.

Just a minute ago you didn't even know he was a freshmen with Floyd, and now your going to give us insight to that team??? 01-wingedeagle

He averaged over 18 minutes a game his freshmen year!!! On a senior laden team... He had 2 seniors at center in front of him and got more than both. See fit, you make no sense, you backpedal yourself into spots that defeat your own argument. If Floyd was so anti-freshmen, why would he run Moultrie off? Why did he try and recruit Harris, another freshmen for that position?

By the way, Moultrie didn't want to be in El Paso anymore (probably because of all the crazies/naysayers), Floyd didn't run him off.

Floyd didn't have nay sayers until he couldn't deliver for three straight years.

Moultrie was run out by Floyd because Moutrie said he wanted to try the draft. Floyd said that if he tried the draft not to come back.

That is common knowledge on Sports Talk.
