Exactly. Asher Wildman reported that Washburn was the guy who threw the punch.

Why would he same something like that if it wasn't in the report?

Couldn't he get in trouble for reporting stuff like that?

Headlines. Read the report versus what is in the headline.

Like I said. I don't know what happened because I wasn't there. I do know however that Asher Wildman reported that Washburn was the guy who threw the punch and that is what was on the original report obtained by him.

I wouldn't make something like that up. If you don't like the story, don't get mad at me. Get mad at Asher Wildman for reporting it.

I guess you read the article where Chris Washburn said he was upset by what Asher Wildman reported.

So now people can blame Asher Wildman for reporting it and not Chris Washburn for being a knuckle head.

Asher Wildman could have followed up when it became clear Chris Washburn did not assault anyone. Wildman didn't mind getting the big headline with the allegations. I don't fault him there. He could have been just as high profile when it turned out it wasn't Washburn.

I am not 100% familiar with the establishment. I have both, under 21 is allowed and not allowed. I don't know for certain if Chris Washburn was being a knucklehead or not.

Asher Wildman did follow up and Tim Floyd and UTEP chose not to comment.

It was never clear that Washburn didn't assault anyone. The original police report identified Washburn as the person who threw the punch and the amendment to the report later said that the person who did it could not be identified. That does not mean that Washburn didn't assault anyone.

As for Tim Floyd, I agree with Kappy on Sports Talk who said " Tim Floyd threw Asher Wildman under the bus."

It wasn't Asher's fault that Washburn was on the original police report. All Asher did was report what happened.

I'm not surprised by it one bit.

Floyd will always have trouble keeping kids on his squad.

I call complete BS on this "amended" police report... Even Wildman acknowledged from the get go that Washburn was not identified, yet he still wrote his article with a slant against Washburn.

How so? When has Coach Floyd had trouble keeping kids? If anything, he has the problem of too many kids wanting to be on his team. Explain. Specifically.

Since Floyd has been here, he has had kids leave school. Now we learn of three more that are leaving.

You are just learning that three more players are leaving? You just now learned that? You weren't aware of that previously? You didn't figure that out when we were three over the scholarship cap? You just "now" learned three more are leaving?

I'm not the one who is surprised by this. I've been saying all along that Tim Floyd's style of coaching makes for a revolving door at UTEP.

There is a reason why he brings in so many guys. It's because he knows that his style of coaching is going to rub a lot of players the wrong way and they are going to move on.

That's not why three players are transferring.

RE: Chris Washburn invovled in bar incident
Maybe not all three but we know at least one is leaving because he felt he wasn't getting enough playing time.
