Someone posted on the old boards that Jay Wright of Villanova may be trying to hire Mike Deane. That would be a big loss if true.

Deane said he liked it here, and is working with a former pupil. Strong reasons to stay.

I would hate to see him leave.

We all hate to see Deane go anywhere... For some reason based on nothing more than selfishness I think he stays. If he were two decades younger, gone.

When was the last time a JMU coach was hired away, a move to bigger and better? Newsome counts, maybe Rowe? I wish Rowe were still at JMU.

Deane is playing golf in the Fredericksburg Duke Club golf tournament next month, so I hope he doesn't leave before then. I am hoping to play with him. Two 61 yr old basketball guys that both have more crap with them than a Thanksgiving Turkey has stuffing. Sure to be a good round of golf!
