Any chances NIU goes after this Wes Lunt kid?
Just throwin it out there... A lot of talented QB's are leaving AQ conference schools now-a-days... there was a small chance NIU would've landed that Gunner Kiel kid but I have a feeling we'll be able to snag a quality transfer before Lynch leaves. I love NIU and I found myself in this same position when Harnish left, uncertainty about our future, but Lynch quickly changed everyone's mind. But this time it's different, these QB's we have to replace Lynch when he leaves, I just don't know... we got really lucky when we got Lynch from Mt. Carmel, he was a Gem at the bottom of a huge rock quarry haha. If NIU 3-peats as MAC champs, we might legitimately move to the Big East (which is the bottom dweller of AQ's, but still it's AQ) or, in some blessing from God, the Big 12. I just think we need to push harder at these kids that are transferring. If they want playing time, then there best chance is here on a up and coming team that is definitely just waiting for it's chance. Before I graduate in Fall 2015 (sadly I've been here since Fall 2010) I wana see NIU going farther than just the Orange Bowl, I want something like the Orange Bowl and other BCS bowls to be attainable yearly by being in a AQ... only way to compete is by getting, gona quote Stacey King in a weird way, "Too big, too strong, too fast, too good"; for any non-Chicago natives, that's about Derrick Rose, but you get where I'm going with this... we need some big, strong, fast kids so next time we play Florida St. we stomp their a*s.

Also the Big East(American Athletic Conference) Is not going to be AQ anymore next year and there is the new playoff format, so the only big gain we would get is more TV Revenue. But they would also have much higher travel costs in the AAC in comparison to the MAC.

If and when NIU's fan base grows large enough to support, fill and fund a 45k seat stadium it will be time to seriously discuss a possible move. If that ever happens the Big 12 has always made the most sense to me. Until then the MAC is a perfect fit for NIU.

I do not understand why Huskie Stadium is not currently sold out for every home game. With the quality of our program, an NIU football ticket should be difficult to find

Your right, it's hard to believe with our recent success we don't sell out every game. The team has done everything they can that's for sure!

Its not the football program...its everything off just outside the football field. Here are 4 things that are the cause of low attendance and people not returning that have nothing to do with the opponent as we know that is part of the issue...

Our athletic office not calling old season ticket holders, donors and frequent individual ticket holders to get them back.

Lack of updated and the number of bathrooms

Poor concessions and the lack of vendors walking the stands

Lack of a good relationship between NIU and DeKalb/Sycamore

You can summarize that in three words, can't you?

Lack of effort.

Those things can all be fixed and it would not be all that difficult to address. Perhaps the new administration and AD will do so. To your list I would add Brand the campus. In the fall hang huge banners on every entrance to campus saying You Are Entering Huskie Country! Make them huge and the first thing that returning students and their parents see when returning to campus.

Show some Huskie pride, it will become contagious.

I would put an orange with a note on the desk of every dorm room. It will remind the students of what the team accomplished last year. It will reinforce the positive memories for the students that experienced games last year and encourage those who missed out to be a part of it in the future.

An orange with a ticket taped to it probably makes more sense than a note.

Pocket Schedule...they don't give out student tickets any more.
