Nice review and I think that both Brey and Notre Dame are underrated, however, finishing 4th or 5th in the new ACC lineup may be a tall order.

It's plausible. The only teams clearly better are Syracuse, Duke and UNC (until Louisville joins in 2014). Figure one surprise team like '12 FSU or '13 Miami, and there's still a shot at #5.

My bad, I was including Louisville and expecting FSU and Miami to be near where they were. You are correct.

The ACC needs to be aware that Brey is not as well known as many of the former Big East HCs, but is is as dangerous a coach as any of them. He wins consistently at ND and he gets some really good kids to play at ND.

Notre Dame's style will be a shock to several ACC teams. That way of playing is very successful in the regular season but is a ticket to a 1 and done in the NCAA's...07-coffee3

FSU isn't really a surprise considering over the last 8 years only UNC and Duke have more ACC wins. Miami was a surprise as I believe this was their ONLY season above .500 in ACC play. (Maybe their second ever.)
