RE: Benson really pushing for Liberty
Kinda hard to think of inviting any other teams but JMU or JSU. I remember the talk about GaSo and how we would not be a good add. I don't know much about the dynamics of any of the schools just like most on here don't know much about GaSo but if we blindly added teams last year what's to stop it this time.

RE: Benson really pushing for Liberty
Liberty would make a good travel partner with Appy St, Lynchburg is a pretty area. If you go to a game there you are not required to attend classes, so you won't be told to relearn creationism. Those are the positives of Liberty.

And oh yeah, they want in, they would accept today. No reason for us to wait on a school. That just tells me that school is waiting for better offers. JSU has expressed interest before about moving up, but haven't heard anything from their administration in a while about it.

Could be GA State or GSU too. Then the other would be App's partner?

This state has won the last 4 national championships, during that time JSU was ranked #1 is FCS at some point as well as beat Old Mrs. To say this state can't handle a dozen more scholarship football players is ridiculous.

Also, North Carolina will be adding it's 6th and 7th FBS teams over the next couple of years. And that state will not implode for football players.

If JSU is ready and willing, they should a get a fair shot at it, not blackballed by a scared group from Troy. Besides, they won't be competing with you for players, more like competing with UAb for players. And really, are you scared of anything UAb wants???05-stirthepot

I think USA would block this add... It's not just Troy my friend.... And North Carolina has vertically DOUBLE the population of Alabama. That's not a good arguement....

Is there another USA fan in favor of adding JSU?

Not this one.

JSU is located pretty centrally in the league, they wouldn't need a travel partner. But Ga St would probably get the billing, they are the closest other SBC school.

*Sorry, I'm just looking at FCS schools in the footprint that in my mind are good overall, they may be lacking in one or more areas.

McNeese is blackballed by UL, ULM and stAte.

We each have our reasons.

For the Cajuns, it was McNeese who blocked our effort to keep the other sports in the Southland while playing D1A football. This forced us into the hinterland of independence for a decade.

Payback is one mean ol' gal.

That moment when...

I was sitting at my desk and almost put a glue stick to my lips instead of my chapstick. That just happened, thought I'd share.

Carry on.

Sun Belt holds the cards and needs to call the shots. Mo St is terrible in football anyway.

Hold back your trash talking until you actually know that's what MSU is doing, because it's not, and its ******** to accuse us of it.

Not me either, or at least not the top of my list, but way ahead of Liberty.

This. We need a commitment. MO St needs to let us know one way or another. If they balk and JMU balks then ....ugh...idk, force UTA to start up football would be my preference but I suppose Liberty gets the nod. They want it badly, that says something I suppose.

I don't want to hear any more about the academic prowess of the Georgia schools.

How hard is it to understand that if Missouri State declares now they will be unable to meet FBS criteria in 2014 because of their planned stadium renovation?

Why don't you Georgia boys quit throwing that line of bull and simply admit the truth you don't want any more schools on the western side of the league because this argument you are making is bogus.

So we are still a conference that es 75% of members to vote yes for a new member right? Where is Liberty to buy 10 yes votes? Exactly. 07-coffee3

Alabama and North Carolina produce about the same amount of NFL talent. Quality players shouldn't be a problem for any Alabama team. Our state produces lots of talent.

Alabama 86 DI
North Carolina 79

Sure there are more up to date numbers but this is the first one I found.

Interesting bits:
Missouri 18
Virginia 56 (big surprise to me)
Tennessee (surprise on the high side)
Mississippi has more high school players than Alabama
Louisiana high school numbers are lower than I would have guessed.
