As someone reported on here but I was a little confused.

Guess this mean no changes to current structure from quite some time. Bummer. Will they take down the old one?

Doubt it since its already called the AUX press box.

I hope that means the gutting of the West stands is a higher priority over the new skybox.

If they change the West stands I hope they don't make it open like the East side. It's a lot warmer the way it is now, if a bit congested.

Agreed. The back wall is a good thing but I think there are a few internal walls that can be opened up to not give the feel that you are in the basement of a highschool gym.

On top of that when they get some money I think it would be nice, for the people who have to walk up the zig zag, to put up some kind of vertical billboard Huskie related image that doubles as a wind beaker

I wonder if this means we will have our games on Telemundo!

In all seriousness I bet this was a need for the IHSA bid.

The press box needs to go up not wider! All you need is two rows high for media and that will be enough!! The suites can go in the endzone across from the yordon and IPF and then on either sides of the media boxes!! I think that would give huskie stadium an awesome look! Plus get rid of the stupid fence and put up a brick structure!

Not concerned that this impacts our drive for a new press box. Looks like this is temp structure that could be torn down in minutes if needed.

Why would you put suites in the endzone? THat would be terrible for watching a game-especially for the type of prices that we would ask for.

It's a wooden box. It probably costs like $300 in wood from Home Depot.

Looks like the Skybox and maybe all of the West side is getting HDTVs to replace the current SD ones.

What is going into the south aux press box is the official instant replay staff and the staff that operates the game and play clocks.

Opening up some additional seating in the main press area, as well as one of the booths in the box.

For more space for the media, coaches or guests of the univ?

Thanks for the info.

Uh-oh, I wonder how many seats we'll lose.

Will it drop our capacity down to 23,976 or something?

Hey, maybe they can put temporary bleachers in the south end zone for our really big crowds. (Imagine a stir-the-pot simile here. I can't get it to work with the iPad.)

We are losing between 125-150 bleacher seats. Looking on the positive side we are all that much closer to a sell out now!

If that's where your season tickets are located, do you now get to sit in the booth?

Looks nice for a high school.
Is the structure above the press box new too?

Makes the West side look more symmetrical, I don't mind it. Especially if it opens up some skybox spots that the media/replay officials would have been sitting in.

RE: New AUX media box being built
Not sure what's going to happen in the press box, but wouldn't be surprised if the coaches are pushing for a bigger box. Very tight fit for them.
The coaches box is right next to the home radio booth. I wonder if they'll move Bill and Lindo to the other side of the box where replay and visiting radio is so they can double the size of that coaches box.
