RE: Crosstown Classic
the crosstown classic is to cincinnati as progressive field is to cleveland. The name change will not change what it is. It is and will always be the crosstown shootout

RE: Crosstown Classic
We may not have to worry about what it is called after this year anyway.

Even though we are now in the AAC and need all the "quality" OOC opponents we can get?

RE: Crosstown Classic
The AAC schedule is not going to be that bad. One quality opponent off the OOC schedule will not be that big of a loss as long as they are not replaced by teams over the 150 RPI mark.

UC wants to play it at a neutral site. Xavier wants it to return to a home and home. After this game, its possible both won't give in and the game will be cancelled.

I believe something similar happened last year between Kentucky and Indiana.

RE: Crosstown Classic
In retrospect, given the way UC's fans and team were treated the last time we played in that snake pit, I wouldn't want to go back to gangsta-land either.

Both want to continue. As stated above, each wants it on their own terms and are not willing to budge.

The only way it happens is if XU gives in and lets it continue at US Bank. There is no way UC agrees to go back to home and home.

If Mick has any say we're never going back to Cintas after his dad and our president had blue paint thrown on them and I don't blame him one bit. That is not what college sports is supposed to be.

I hope UL would be a non-AAC opponent. I hope Cronin's relationship with Pitino pays dividends here.
