This vid is saved as a favorite and I'm sure I'll visit it often when I need a sports fix this summer, but I just have to state - again - for the record: this is superhuman. I mean, in my baseball days I was known for making "imaginative" catches (well, mostly for disregarding my personal safety in the attempt), but what's insane about this catch is that I can't imagine this attempt itself ever crossing my mind - or that of any player I've ever known - if I played a lifetime of football. I hope he has the work ethic to match his size and skills in the big league...

#1 and most important... HE IS FROM WEST VIRGINIA.... we love the local guys around here.

#2 That happened LITERALLY right in front of me. I was in that corner endzone on the front row. Still to this day I wonder if he heard me scream "ball." As he was not looking and as soon as I screamed it he looked. I know, wishful thinkin on my part. I NEVER heard the crowd when I played lol

RE: Marshall fans re: Mr. Aaron Dobson
There is no questioning Aaron's work ethic. The kid if not in class or doing class work was either working out or studying film/playbook. During the summer sometimes if you looked in Joan C Edwards Stadium sometimes you would only see 6 players out there, Rakeem Cato, Blake Frohnapfel, Eric Frohnapfel, Tommy Shuler, Gator Hoskins and Aaron Dobson.

Dobson is a home grown talent, straight out of South Charleston, WV. West Virginia doesn't produce hundreds of players per year but what they produce is usually decent. You may get 2 kids a year that are DI prospects, and they usually either go to Marshall or The Who. Here are just a few that are from WV that have made the NFL, Jason Rader (St. Albans), Doug Legursky (Beckley), Randy Moss (Dunbar), Carl Lee (South Charleston), Frank Gatski (Morgantown, NFL HOF).

If NE lets Dobson do what he is capable of doing. And doesn't try and turn him into a different receiver, he should do great things in the NFL. I would compare Dobson to Deion Branch before he was traded to Seattle. Dobson doesn't have top end speed but he is a good route runner and he knows how to separate from a defender at the end of the play to make the catch.

I missed about two minutes of Herd home football that season. Left right before halftime to grab some food...and I would have been sitting in that front row also

I saw it from the west side of the stadium... Thought he just batted the ball down and everyone starting cheering... Looked at the replay on the scoreboard and with everyone else there sat there in awe

I can only think that maybe, maybe, I would have thought to tip the ball up then catch it coming down. That something inside him said, "Oh, short throw, back turned, defender on my outside shoulder...aight, backhand catch..." just blows my mind.

You can see in in the defenders body language. He thought he had an easy INT at first.

I was "spotting" for radio and watching through binoculars. I looked up when the ball was on its way I said "Damn, he missed him!" And then "Holy sh#t, he caught it"

Believe it or not, the day I posted this I was imagining that in the ECU film room later that week #24 said, "See?!? He pushed off!!" To which the guy sitting next to him replied, "Dude...really?" #24: "Well, I mean...he did...and stuff..."

The more I see ignorant ECU posters the more I HOPE Greenville NC burns to the ground. Or better yet becomes as relevant as Greenville SC.

For those of you who don't know Greenville SC is home to Furman University.

What miracle occurred in 2007 when arguably our worst team in 25 years, sitting at 0-7, shut down Chris Johnson and beat you 26-7? TIA.

Obnoxious as you referred to us in another thread, is beating you like 4 straight times and still hearing about the GMAC bowl constantly from your fans. A game where our 6-5 team took one of your best teams of alltime to the woodshed before we gave the game away. A team that was Pruitt built, which we all know by now what that means. I don't believe 6-5 teams even belong in bowls. Much less against 10 win teams, just shows what a joke the MAC was.

10-4 alltime against the Herd and zero wins in Greenville, if facts are obnoxious than I am the king.

I have much respect for your fanbase though and honestly think you should be in the AAC. But thus far you don't hold the smack match against us :).
