New and current CUSA members for 2013 Football season= ticket sales?
How have season ticket sales been for NEW (vs how you would do where you were from) and current (vs. last season) for the 2013 season?
**********
I would be under the assumption all the new guys would have pretty good increase in sales. Not sure if the old guard will have decreased or stagnant ticket sales ....I guess a increase could be possible too.
***********
Mainly for ODU and Charlotte fans, what wheels have been turning for expanding your respective stadiums.
ODU fans, is there any new word on your stadium expansion plans?

Expansion plans are expected to be released with our new campus master plan in June. Coach Wilder and staff have been talking about a 35,000 seat stadium to recruits. So, soon, real soon.

I don't think the wheels will start turning for us until the season begins and people start complaining because the didn't buy an FSL and can't get a ticket.
Alot of fans of the program and average people in Charlotte think they will be able to walk up to the gate the day of the game and grab a ticket, that won't happen.

Yep. I've talked to several people that are really excited Charlotte will finally have college football and 'can't wait to go to a game this year.' Most are stunned when I tell them there won't be many public tickets available because most of the tickets will go to seat license holders and students.
Someone in the AD said that if we were only selling season tickets we'd be able to fill a 25,000 seat stadium with no problem. Apparently they've been bombarded with calls for season tickets, but there are none to offer.

Last I heard, our season ticket sales were doing good. In recent years we typically end up around 15-17K holders.

Our AD says there was a "substantial rise in season tickets." Intriguing.

You guys should have no problem filling your stadium regularly, especially in a large city, like Charlotte, that hasn't had any college football. I'd imagine there will be plans to expand the stadium very soon.

Good for you guys. You were around this level at this time last year too if I remember correctly. Finished with about 15,000 last year, right?

ODU likely can sell close to 30,000 season tickets alone, maybe even more, based on the current waiting list.
Having said that, ODU has a plethora of obstacles for stadium expansion; including setbacks, public right-of-ways, historic registry issues (the clamshell and 76-year-old Rollins Hall), zoning, and of course parking.
New State laws regarding Eminent Domain make expanding outward problematic, if not impossible.
This is an older concept that would seat a little over 30k, but given all of the above issues and constraints; as well some degree of "time is of the essence", this seems to me to the most likely on-campus solution.
A little tweaking, like maybe adding the North end style 'corner bridge sections' on the South end connecting to the boxes and suites might bring us close to 40k.

ODU guys, do you have a overhead shot of your stadium? I think one was surfacing when you got into CUSA.
I was wanting to visualize your issues again. That design that was posted a posts up looks doable.

Won't that be impossible to build those connectors with the rounded forms of your stadium then? Especially with that street that runs behind the endzone.

The issues are no taller then 4 stories because of flight patterns. Also we are in a neighborhood so some issues with the noise. The right a way on 51th street maybe an issues. And just overall hampton blvd which our stadium is on is just a very narrow street and has many issues with drainage traffic and more issues. While I think it can be done it will take some time. I'm glad we have the extension for expanding. Cusa said we have until 2016 to meet the stadium issues.

Where to begin...
There is no 4 story limit. ODU is not that close to the NAS runway or ORF. Recent campus additions Spring Hill Suites is 5 stories tall and the TED is 6.
The Batten A&L building is 9 stories tall.
There is no such street as 51st; west of Highland Park.
The potential right-of-way issue is actually Bluestone Avenue which runs right behind the Stadium on the west and north.
Hampton Blvd is not narrow, as it is a divided 6 lanes in front of Foreman Field, and the stadium is a good 75 yards back.
As for 2016, I am not aware of any CUSA proscription or ultimatum other than that which has been been rumored on forums.
Would you source that?
