I love Pitt's setup right now and definitely want Pitt to continue playing Virginia Tech but it's not a huge deal to me if they do the true zipper and put Louisville with Pitt as cross division rivals. My only question is I think the Atlantic would be too tough. VT, Clemson, and FSU in one division seems a little lopsided although I guess it would help Pitt have a chance to win some division titles.

I love how Miami wants BC and doesn't get them and VT want nothing to do with BC who was in the Big East with them and both BC/Syracuse just get plopped with Florida State. And then some people wonder why the fanbase is pissed at our division...

Like I always say, easy to brush off someone else as complaining when you guys get everything you want. If you had both BC/Syracuse in your division, you wouldn't be happy either. Heck you aren't happy about the BC crossover already.

Why does every thread have to be about you not liking to play BC?  You would think that they personally drag you behind the bus to Syracuse every year with the amount of complaining that they are in your division though you haven't actually played them yet.

There are two threads right now that were not about divisional realignment that have now been hijacked by this useless discussion.

Every possible arrangement of teams and every single scheduling scenario has been hashed out daily on this forum.  Why hijack new threads instead of pulling up the hundreds of previous threads on this topic?  It'd be nice if we could discuss new things.

IMO, a Pitt-Louisville rivalry makes more sense.

Not to Louisville either. I'd rather see us play Miami every year, if possible. If not them then VPI or UVa would be good because of travel, but it seems any of the three would require the divisions to be completely redone. I'd much rather see us in the same division as FSU and Clemson so we get one of the two at home every season which would be awesome.

The official position of vt is they really like the permanent rival of Boston . There is a small vocal minority .. Mostly live in more southern or western va who see vt permanent rivals more southern. However most of us really enjoy the games with Boston and bring able to visit a great town like Boston every other year.

It's just a function of Louisville having little history with the ACC teams. If each team got to pick who it wanted for a cross division rival no one would pick Louisville first because everyone in the ACC has at least one team who is a bigger rival with more history behind it already in the conference.

For example, Miami would pick FSU, VT would pick UVA, etc...

Right, and even Pitt has more games played versus Syracuse, Miami, and BC. I'd be happy to play Louisville though as long as we still have the yearly game with Syracuse.

For the record, I never said I "want nothing to do with BC"; what I said was I REALLY want VT to play Louisville every year. I don't mind playing BC - we've had some really good games. Still, my favorite opponents for the Hokies would have to be (1) Miami, (2) Clemson. I also like it when we play GT, FSU, NCSU, BC and Syracuse (so I guess you'd say I wish we were in the Atlantic Division)

Louisville ---------------Syracuse
Florida State------------Miami
Boston College---------Virginia
Georgia Tech-----------Clemson
NC State----------------North Carolina
Wake Forest------------Duke
Pittsburgh--------------Virginia Tech

this combo works the best and is one I really like as it is a basic Clemson and Syracuse for Georgia tech and Pittsburgh switch

I'm kind of old fashioned when it comes to these things but why would Syracuse not want to play Pitt and BC, two schools who they have a ton of history with just to play Louisville with whom they have very little? If Louisville goes into a down period, what's the appeal? I'm just wondering.

I don't like this lineup for Pitt either because it means they don't play any of their three most played rivals in the ACC: Syracuse, Miami, and BC. Playing VT is nice but I'd much rather Pitt be in the Coastal. I was looking at most played opponents and it still surprises me that Pitt is Miami's third most played opponent of all time behind Florida and Florida State. I know they don't care about Pitt at all but it's just interesting.

Louisville is a budding rivalry, Pittsburgh is an older rival so either is fine . BC I could care less so us and va tech could switch cross rivals or even rotate

in this alignment you would play va tech and boston college yearly(along with rest of division)
