[split] Can AAC FB match what Big East FB did?
By match do you mean have 7 teams defect the conference and 3 promise to join but never do?

Please tell us that ECU, Tulane and Tulsa are jumping to the bigXII before conference play :)

Even better, can Providence contain the same futility in its new conf as it did in the old Big East?
Providence spent 34 years in the OLD Big East...and earned:
1) Zero Big East Regular Season Titles
2) One Conf Tourn Title
That's a tough goal to beat...but I think Providence just might keep the futility going.

I believe, long term, the quality of football in the American will surpass anything in the old Big East. Cincinnati, UCF, USF, SMU, Houston, ECU and UConn all should make regular bowl appearances. With some time Temple, Memphis, Navy, Tulane and Tulsa will be there, too. This is a hungry conference that will continue to improve and gain respectability. The key is winning - especially OOC.
